Do I replace it with this or this?

I like the brown one

RumMum · 11/01/2009 17:35

I like them both.. they are very similar
both have lots of pockets
I think I like the Women's Regular Weatherly Parka best

NotADragonOfSoup · 11/01/2009 20:11

So, that's one vote each

I'll be getting it in white, whichever it is.

they both look very cosy, have never really thought of landsend for coats, daft really as i live in the village they are based, big factory shop here, but never been.

LurkerOfTheUniverse · 11/01/2009 20:19

I've just bought the weatherly parka and I have to say I look bloody awful in it

very norky, so look like a barrel in it

don't know whether to swap for this

NotADragonOfSoup · 11/01/2009 20:23

This is primarily a school run coat so attractiveness is not the prime concern

TBH, I don't think I'm overly struck by either of them. I think I need to see a coat and try it on.

LurkerOfTheUniverse · 11/01/2009 20:24

it's a VERY warm coat though

clarebear1 · 11/01/2009 20:31

I prefer the brown style

lucykate · 11/01/2009 20:36

the thing that gets me about coats, particularly now i walk to do the school run twice a day, is how many don't have a hood. all i want is a decent coat with a hood!

i saw what could have been an ideal mac for dd in asda last week, navy with white spots, nice waterproof fabric, decent button fastening, but guess what, no hood!, made it useless. i did think the idea of a mac was that it was shower proof, how can it be shower proof without a hood

i know i could use a brolly, but when walking with an armful of school and lunch bags, and 2 dc's on scooters to keep in check crossing roads, no hands free for a brolly.

rant over

NotADragonOfSoup · 12/01/2009 08:11

Yes, look at this. It is waterproof, it has no hood. Bah!

this is another option although I can't believe I'm considering Millets.

NotaDragon, when you say Cheap primark coat was it the patent hooded one? I have one you see,and wish to know if it is destined for an early grave.

NotADragonOfSoup · 12/01/2009 10:55

No, it was a white puffy coat from a year or 2 back. It has done sterling service for over 2 years but the zip just broke. Great for £12.

I've just bought a Trespass coat from TK Maxx for a bargain £25. I'll ignore the fact that the tag claims it is a size 20 (which is isn't since I'm a small 12 and it fits beautifully!) It's waterproof, windproof, warm and has a hood. Perfect

Oh Phew

NotADragonOfSoup · 12/01/2009 10:57

It lasted better than my Boden rain mac, I can tell you that!

OP posts:
mrsmaidamess · 12/01/2009 10:58

You don't have to convince me how lame Boden is.

lucykate · 12/01/2009 15:09

oh dear!, what happened to the boden rain mac?
