I love it! So tell me, Twinset, how do the young things wear leg warmers these days??

cocolepew · 10/01/2009 18:26

They are strange because two of the pairs are not that baggy, I thought legwarmers were meant to be baggy.

DD has jus looked at me in all sincerity and said they must be English legwarmers, hers apparantly are American ones.

She is currently wearing them quite high and not that pushed down, looks awful to me but dp has given me that leave her be look so I am staying silent and amused.

Ooh, ohh, put them on and start singing "FAME! I'm gonna live forever, I wanna learn how to fly, HIGH..people will see me and cry.."

ooh, I just had a moment

TWINSETinapeartree · 10/01/2009 18:34

she has now layered all three pairs going up her leg, apparantly that is the coolest thing you can do with them.

i still use my 80's legwarmers !!!

I was a dancer until i had DS2 and i use them still for cold days (i don't like tights!)

MyTwoDamnedPenceworth · 10/01/2009 18:44

Of course, if you don't want her to wear them, you should tell her she looks fab and just like you did when you were her age...

HoorayHenry · 10/01/2009 19:04

Dear god Twinset please ask for this thread to be deleted

I really don't want to be reminded about legwarmers

TWINSETinapeartree · 10/01/2009 19:12

You see if I was thin enough I would go out in black leg warmers, burgandy boots and a beret.

llareggub · 10/01/2009 19:14

Mine were fluro yellow with matching fingerless gloves.

I thought I was cheese.

TWINSETinapeartree · 10/01/2009 19:18

DD has some black kace fingerless gloves which she adores.

OP posts:
twoluvlykids · 10/01/2009 19:21

it'll be ra ra skirts before we can say bananarama, you'll see

llareggub · 10/01/2009 19:23

I loved my ra ra skirt! It was all candy stripes and did nothing for my tubbiness.

TWINSETinapeartree · 10/01/2009 19:26

dd already has rara skirts, infact she has on at the moment, her 3 pairs of leg warmers, a rara skirt, a vest and a huge bow in her hair!

Now I loved legwarmers, and have been secretly pondering whether it is possible to get away with them again at my advanced age (nearly 40).
I have also been thinking of buying some fingerless gloves, but that is only because it is so bloody cold in our workshop but I can't work with real gloves on, which I think is a legitimate excuse

JackieNo · 10/01/2009 19:38

Aimsmum - you need to show her this UV nail varnish that glows under UV Lights .

I bought some for DD, they are different from the 80's ones, they have an ankle strap thingy.
