Thinking of dying my eyebrows. Is this a good idea? I'm relying on you Mumsnet.

I am very very blonde. White blonde. A bit freckly.

With no makeup and without dying my eyelashes I look a bit featureless.

I think I want to dye my eyebrows too. Does anyone reading do this? Any thoughts or tips? I'm very nervous because I don't want to end up looking like this. (Or this).

Obviously only very slightly tinted.

Should I do it?

I gave up dyeing my eyebrows because it only lasts a short while. I just use a dark brown eyebrow pencil every day which works great. Also is a guarantee I don't end up looking like your pics .

Don't do it yourself whatever you do!!!!!

I have my lashes and brows tinted as I am very blonde and pale. I only need a tiny bit of colour on my brows or I look bizarre (when they are first done they seem far too dark but quickly fade thank goodness).

Go for it but make sure you go to someone who knows what they are doing.

Also I find if I wear no other make up but just spend 20 secs putting some pencil on my eyebrows it automatically 'lifts' my otherwise dreary face.

Amazing. I have only just discovered this fact at the age of 38 too.

So a cautious thumbs up then?

Now I have to work out where to get it done. Am not in UK and am a LOT fairer then the majority of the population here. Hmmm...

Maybe I'll experiment with an eyebrow pencil too. Had not given it a go as I generally don't wear make-up day to say (other than dyed lashes) and I thought it might look odd with no other makeup.

where are you?
If you're somewhere with a large expat community, it's worth paying for one of the posh places that cater to the tourists or wealthy expats.

And yes, I completely agree that you should do it. You can always ask for very light, they can show it to you in the mirror and if you want it darker, it's an extra 10 seconds for them to do it.

Oh good thinking. I'll go to a big posh hotel.

The local 'saloon' is fab for most things but I'd be nervous about eyebrow dying.
