I need pyjamas... Lovely lovely pyjamas - where are they?

I am thinking jersey pyjamas, I am thinking long sleeved and 'proper' pyjama bottoms, not shorts.

I am not averse to cartoon characters if needs must.

But no yacky old lady patterns.

But I can pretend young and funky is very 'me' (lol!)

I have tried all the high street names I can think of, and come up with a pretty piss poor selection, so MN it's over to you!

V. expensive but lovely here.

Most pyjamas are naff at the moment aren't they? I've been looking to no avail.

PrincessButtercup · 07/01/2009 21:00

Hush has scrummy ones. Can't remember the link but google will come up with it.

PrincessButtercup · 07/01/2009 21:01

oops! Well done LaT!

no help here, just wanted to add my frustrations at trying to find nice, not old ladyish, proper jammies.

Why oh why does everywhere do those useless (to me) little tops with spaghetti straps? its my shoulders and neck that get cold when they are above the duvet (blame duvet snatching dh) and are the bits i want covered the most!!

grrrr grrr grrr

DippyDino · 07/01/2009 21:08

Mmmm... will hold out for the sale and then.... pounce! (That's pounce, not ponce btw)

Buy a pack of two boys/mens plain jersey pyjama bottoms in a nice colour and then treat yourself to two really nice jersey long sleeved tops - and you will end up with lovely pyjamas. That's what I had to do!

Pannacotta · 07/01/2009 22:06

I buy mine from H&M, my last pair are organic jersey cotton and cost less £15.
They are very soft, comfy and look nice too (bright pink/purple stripe top and hot pink jersey bottoms).

DippyDino · 08/01/2009 10:38

Will have a gander at H&M then, Pannacotta.
And you get extra points for organic, o'course!

Worst offenders in the pyjama department are the cheap 'fake silk' ones - eek! They look all shiny and then when you touch them it's like nails on a blackboard. Aargh!

Primark have nice pjs. Land's end and Boden too, which are better quality (I have had my LE ones for about 3 years and they havew washed and worn very well). And I have had some fab pjs from Sainsbury's and Asda.

ifimust · 08/01/2009 13:26

Got some fab ones in the BHS sale (yes, BHS). Black jersey with modal so really soft to the touch. Nice cut to the trousers - slightly wide-legged but not flappy. Quite a fitted top but so comfy. (Possibly a bit scary if you are large of nork, which I am, but family quite used to my scary chest). Cream trim to the neckline and - this is the dealbreaker - a nice patterned trim to the inside of the neckline, with matching tiestring.
Fab, and only £15.
Wash and tumble dry nicely too.

have you tried La Senza?
They had a 2 for £25 offer on before christmas
