Ideally a fairly heavy one in this cold weather. Any ideas?? TIA

Loads of long skirts in the sale at East

Hmmm. Surely a long black skirt will disguise your legs, not your tummy? Too much material might make you look bigger .

TBH I find long skirts accentuate my tummy, carrying the line of the most sticky-out bit all the way down to my feet IYSWIM.

A pain of Spanx (or the like) and something less voluminous would be my bet!

I would suggest a longer top, funky beads and slim legged trousers to disguise a tummy. Plus control pants, yes.

Fantastic Freudian slip typo there! I meant pair obviously...

I got one from La Redoute

It's lovely and comfy and goes with anything

chop it in half with a chunky belt or deep ribbed hem. control underwear helps as has been said. patterns on bad bits, plain colours on good bits

Thanks for all your suggestions. I need to disguise legs as well - somehow feel more comfy in skirts and less exposed than in trousers. I used to have a skirt which had a side closing and slightly stretchy fabric - not lycra but something similar - and it had a corset like effect but have never been able to find a similar one. The skirts on East and La Redoute look great and I also have Spanx on my list of things to investigate - people seem to be split on the benefits v discomfort.
