it is too long, it is stunning, and was reduced from £199 to £35. So i had to buy it.. is it possible to shorten a wool/cashmere/angora mix dress..

Maybe take it to a proper seamstress and ask.

can't you gather it up with a low slung belt (a la 80s)

I can shorten anything wool simply by washing it hehehe!

it is a fabulous shade of purple, with gorgeous detail round the neckline and wrists. it is mid calf and really needs to be knee length.

will take it to the seamstress i think. surely all sorts of fabrics are alterable?don;t thikn i will attempt to hem it myself!!

great ! i have thick black tights and fab shoes already... was such a bargain, i saw it a couple of weeks ago, it was down to £99 then £75 and was umming and aahing about splashing out, and then saw it today for £35 !!

i don;t go shopping that often either... DH took the DCs to woolworths to see if there were any more bargains and i had time to buy clothes and shoes without the DCs pulling open the curtain to the changing room to expose me in my full nekkid 'glory'

dont think you can shorten something that is a yarn...I have a little experience of this and I am fairly sure..sorry to be a party pooper..if it was such a bargain maybe get your legs made longer ..no?

I would say mid-thigh is good for over jeans. As it inches towards the knee it generally looks too long I always think.

If you feel it looks good then you'll carry it and wear it well.
