Tea tree lotion from Holland and Barrett!

no H&B nearby. Got smallish Boots, and going to big Tesco tomorrow. Anything else?

You can get Scholl foot cream from Tescos but it is a bit pricey but it does work. I tend to use anything but tea tree is good. What about E45? I put loads on my feet after I've had a bath and then put socks on so it doesn't come off quite so quickly. And drink loads of water!

Mine are the same. I have bought the school heel repair cream and it is very good and worth the price. Normal body/foot moisturisers don't seem to touch the huge crevices that I've got in my heels!

Squiz · 12/12/2008 13:31

That should read Scholl!

flexitol

BlueCowNowIsLowingAndDCAwake · 14/12/2008 07:49

two applications of flexitol so far and my feet are back in shape - brilliant stuff and worth every penny of the 8.99 in boots. thanks toys.

I only ever get cracked heels in the winter too. Only started the last couple of years. Ordinary foot creams don't make one jot of difference - they just aren't rich enough. Only thing that helps me is Neutrogena Norwegian Formula range which has a couple of good foot creams:

www.neutrogenauk.co.uk/productdisplay.jhtml?itemname=product_norwegian_feet

The cracked heel cream is good for the initial repair job of the deep cracks but I think it's more expensive. At the mo, I am using the 24 hour moisturisation foot cream. If I use it every night, I never have to use the richer stuff.

Recently tried the Refreshing Foot Balm but I don't think it's rich enough for winter. Probably nice for summer though.

I also use the hand cream (again only use it at night time and it seems to keep the cracks on my fingers at bay if I remember to apply it every night).

Can you tell I'm a fan of the range? I don't work for them either!

You could try this, dh has some and it really good at softening and smoothing out cracked heels:
Champney's heel treatment balm

My dad is diabetic and had terrible feet. He uses Aqueous (sp?) cream every day and they are a million times better.

Buy the white Boots own brand foot scrubber thing (a sort of synthetic pumice stone) and a metal grater-type dead skin remover, plus a good foot cream (Flexitol, Compeed and Mavala are all excellent).

Soak in the bath in the evening for half and hour. First grate off all the old dead skin you can, and then rub with the synthetic pumice stone. Rub especially hard around the crevices as you need all the dead skin to be removed in order for the new skin to heal together.

Dry feet, and rub in a lot of cream. Go to bed.

Repeat every night for a week.

Yes Aqueous cream is a good one to use, its very moisturising and Anna888's plan is also good to get rid of the build up. I think I've seen cotton socks in Body shop, which you can then put on your feet and sleep in.
