Ladies - I need your thoughts on WELLIES

Ok, my mum's buying me wellies for Christmas.

I was going to get a pair of nice coloured Hunters, but they're too tight round my (apparently) ginormo-calves.

I like the Hunter huntress but they're out of stock and not due until just before Christmas.

So, tell me what's the collective MN opinion on Ilse Jacobsen boots?? Too poncey for words?

Btw I live in London so not likely to need them for heavy farming work or anything.

I got my wellies from B+Q, love em. They are quite soft and are wide at the top too.

I have aigle wellies which are the comfiest wellies ever! these are not the ones I have but they look similar to the Ilsa ones you like -and the quality will be better.

I have these, £10 from an outlet store

They are fab, very comfy, and fit round my ample calves

the aigle parcours is the welly, no?

Ruby - I've had my Aigle ones for ages, they are quite slimline, a rather dark green witha teracotta coloured band around the top and a firm ridges black sole, I think they were about £55 ( xmas present from dh - that's how seriously we take wellies in Gloucestershire!)

Thanks for all your thoughts wise wellie ladies but I think I'm going to be a fashion victim and go for these tamara henriques ones

If we ever buy the country estate, however, I'll definitely be investing in a pair of Aigles.

OOh, they're pretty! Silly, but pretty.
