And I need something to wear to my works do on wednesday so I need to order something now.

I am limited to shopping at Next as I have no cash untill friday and the meal is on Wednesday so the Next account it will have to be.

I am a size 16 and, ahem, rather 'gifted' up top iyswim? I hate my size so I want something flattering. Im not used to shopping for my size as untill dd2 came along 18 months ago I was quite trim.

Please help me I am sick of feeling frumpy want something nice

Don't hate your size! Size 16 isn't that big! Those outfits look nice if you want to cover up.....

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 08/12/2008 11:53

well that is what I was aiming for. Is that not the right thing? I was aiming for something that would cover my tum and the tops of my arms but nothing too flowy as my sis says that makes you look bigger.

this one? I like this one woohoo!

Or if you a re self conscious what about a plainish dress and then a fabulous pair of shoes?

SuperSillyus · 08/12/2008 11:57

By the way I'm the opposite of an expert! but didn't want to leave you struggling alone

bouncingblueberries · 08/12/2008 11:58

What about this?

If you're gifted up top, a v-shaped neckline is often more flattering.

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 08/12/2008 11:59

Thanks I like that purple dress is it something I would have worn pre dd2 with an ultra push up bra well if you've got it you may as well flaunt it. But I'm not sure I would have the confidence to pull that off atm.

that dress is nice. agree, a v is good if you are large of nork.

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 08/12/2008 12:01

ooh yes that black one is nice. But maybe a bit long? I am known for indecisiveness incase you have not guessed.

We are going to a posh)ish) italian and then to one of the scruffiest nightclubs in town (the only one open on a wednesday night) if that helps. So while the black one is nice it may be a but too much for the stick to floor while you dance kind of club we are going to end up in.

fishie · 08/12/2008 12:02

what shape are you? no to ruffles and bows on big bosom. i look best in empire line.

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 08/12/2008 12:07

large bust and wide hips I think that trinny and sushanna thing said that I was a cello.

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 08/12/2008 12:09

what about this?

OP posts:
fishie · 08/12/2008 12:10

that purple one is nice, with a shrug maybe?

or this? what have you got for feet?

fishie · 08/12/2008 12:11

great minds...

i'd wear that. very flattering.

BoccaDellaNativita · 08/12/2008 12:11

My vote would be for the first of SuperSillyUs's options. I think the ruffle is fine as long as you don't then go over the top with necklaces, scarves and whatnot. Those high necks would not be flattering to a gifted bosom - it pains me to admit that Trinny and Susannah are right when they say that gifted bosoms under a high neckline look like two kittens fighting in a sack.

Bouncingblueberries's black dress was gorgeous but I think you vetoed that as unsuitable for clubbing and the purple one is maybe a little nekkid for a works do in a restaurant.

Do you have good legs? If so, how about some coloured tights with the solid black dress (I'm thinking dark purple or wine rather than pillar box red zany)?

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 08/12/2008 12:12

roffle fishie! feet I have brown boots ugly black shoes that don't fit (I blame my pregnancy brain) Ugg boots or the Next account. I'm thinking the latter might be the best idea.

SuperSillyus · 08/12/2008 12:38

too high? purple

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 08/12/2008 12:41

that dress was sold out so am still upto looking for a dress

OP posts:
SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 08/12/2008 12:42

too sack like?

OP posts:
BoccaDellaNativita · 08/12/2008 12:44

Don't think so - there aren't too many gathers under the bust. Don't buy the pendant, though!

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 08/12/2008 12:45

i love this with a shrug but too dressy maybe?

OP posts:
BoccaDellaNativita · 08/12/2008 12:48

'Tis very pretty. How many parties do you go to ? The last shift dress would probably do well for smart daytime wear, so could be worn after Christmas, but is there a risk that that very pretty floaty dress would only be worn once ?

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 08/12/2008 12:54

yes you are right. I don't go out much and the next party planned is a childrens birthday at the local soft play house so am thinking floaty dress would not be good but the first one woth jeans would be okay.

ill try that one then
