What is your skin regime?

Have just come back from Florida and for some reason my skin is shocking, seem to be having loads of breakouts and it is a bit dull.

I have been using a No7 microdermabrasion cream and I moisturize in the morning with a day cream and at night with a night cream. Does anyone have any handy tips or product recommendations?

Thanks

try a gentle exfoliator, either one for every day Clarins do a good one which you can use daily... or every 3-4 days. if skin looks dull this might just do the trick.

oh, and of course drink plenty of water - esp. if in centrally heated rooms it can dry the skin out....

I use the Clarins exfoliating facewash in the shower in the morning, then No7 Protect and Perfect serum, then Clarins moisturiser. At night I use Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, then No7 serum, then Clarins night cream.

if you have used the dermabrasion too much you may have scratched your skin surface which will let in infection and hence zits. Once or twice a week max...

wow, & i thought i was doing well using dove pro age soap

Do i really need to use moisturiser? I drink lots of water & take oil of primrose as i think this does help the softness.

Will watch with interest......

I use water only. It's fine.
I did have a phase of messing about with products but it left my skin patchily dry.

simple wet wipe, sometimes followed by cleanser, then hot wrung out flannel, estee lauder advanced night repair, estee lauder cp+, finally estee lauder re-nutrive moisturiser-every night then all the lotions again every morning

Remove make up with cream cleanser (at the mo cheapo Superdrug own)
Wash with facewash (currently Elemis)
Tone (Clinique)
Moisturise (Clinique)

If I don't do any of that I have terrible skin so i've learnt not to think I can do without any of it!

honestfriend · 04/12/2008 18:56

Cleanse every night with either Loreal cleanser- cheapo- or REN if feeling flush.
Use cotton pads soaked in warm water to get rid of excess cleanser- no need for toner.
Moisturise with either REN day cream or frankincense repair night cream, or Clinique Super Defence, then Clinique City Block every day 365 days a year, under make up.

honestfriend · 04/12/2008 18:57

Yo u shouldn't exfoliate too much- one a week at most- it can upset the skin's barrier.

ComeOVeneer · 04/12/2008 18:59

Another clinique girl here. Exfoliate weekly, cleanse tone and moisturise morning and evening. And I have a weekly facial.

snigger · 04/12/2008 19:01

God you're all so good.

It's blitzkrieg or famine for me - I either use every product on the shelf, or face into the shower for an extra minute...

When I'm being regretful of my dilatory ways diligent I use Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, the toner thingy you're meant to use afterwards, the Boots protect serum stuff, and Boots night or day cream with spf.

I use the L'oreal dermabrasion stuff if I look closely in a mirror.

ComeOVeneer · 04/12/2008 19:08

Oh and I second plenty of water and make sure (all year round) your daytime moisturiser has spf.

ilovejonty · 04/12/2008 19:08

Y'know what, the best thing I do for my skin is drink loads of (tap) water, (I'm talking litres and peeing every 15 minutes), but it does the trick . Good ol' water always makes it look much better than anything I've found to put on it. Though Sainsbury's own brand exfoliator is OK too if feelin spotty.
