Toddler's Converse Shoes

Does anyone know if they run big or small, and whether they are any good for first walker-type shoes....?

I really don't like the Clarks-type shoes, and they are so expensive (have DTs so need to buy two pairs) and I thought these might be suitable. My DDs feet are really tiny though, size 2, and am not sure I can get them the actual rubber soled ones, not the baby pre-walker types.

Am happy to be told they are rubbish though , just canvassing for advice really.

Don't - they aren't nearly supportive enough.

A good pair of Start-Rites is what you need. Go to a stockist and ask to see the catalogue - which will have much nicer things in it than on the shelves - and place an order.

Really? D'oh.

I thought that first shoes were supposed to be quitle flexible, and without arch support, as their feet need room to grow ?

If they aren't walking, they don't need shoes at all. Shoes are in fact a bad thing.

Once they are walking, they need support.

They are walking, have been for a few weeks. I've just been too tight to buy them shoes yet as I knew that they didn't need them straight away. Now I am getting funny looks at playgroups when my LOs turn up in their socks .

Get them a pair of soft leather shoes, great as first wee shoes.

I thought the best thing when they are first walking is bare feet therefore for me these are the next best thing.

Thanks louii, we've got some of those- getting a bit tatty now, and not that suitable for wearing outside in this incredibly chilly weather.

Am thinking that I should just go to Start-rite as Anna8888 suggested.

How about these ones then??

I was never very keen on any of the first shoes either dairymoo. I did buy a pair of start-rites but also got some converse to swap with. DD's first rubber soled converse were size 2 - this is the smallest.

Pedipeds are lovely - soft leather, a bit tougher than Inch Blue etc but not as heavy as Clarks.

Also cheaper.

breadandroses · 04/12/2008 10:27

I have nearly had a nervous breakdown tying Converse onto my dts.

You DO NOT need lace ups for twins, it will absolutely do your nut in.

Now when they're big enough to tie their own, im sure they'll look very sweet!

Startrite def the way forward.

dairymoo · 04/12/2008 13:16

Ooh - I like those a lot Louii, didn't realise they did sturdier ones. Thanks!

Will also look at Pedipeds...

And yes, Breadandroses, I think you have a point there...velcro probably MUCH easier!!
