Creased dry clean only dress

I haven't got time to take it to the dry cleaners as I am wearing it on Friday, it's been hung in a steamy bathroom and still creased, any tips as to how to get the creases out? it's viscose/polyester mix (I think) and the material design is crinkly so dare not iron it but is creased across the dress where it was stored, help needed as I don't want to look like a rag-bag!

It depends how crinkly the material is but rolling it up and knotting it may help.

Thanks,The material is very finely crinkled if that makes sense.

I would risk putting it in cold water and hanging to dry tbh.

spray it over with a plant spray type bottle until damp and then leave it to dry?

widgypog · 03/12/2008 16:05

good god. dont spray it with water!!i am a dry cleaner. depending on the dress it will mark really badly potentially. a dry cleaner will do press only usually within a few hours but check the instructions it may say do not iron in which case they may be able to steam it for you hth

Dropdeadfred · 03/12/2008 16:30

so if a dress got rained on it would mark forever???

Get a thick piece of plain material (like a table cloth or anything that is non patterned) and put it on top of the crease and then iron over it.

in truth yes it can !

spicemonster · 03/12/2008 16:37

If you have a lakeland shop nearby and a tumble dryer, you can buy a kit thing that goes into your tumble dryer and turns it into a dry cleaning machine

depends on the material of course..
