Question about hair.

I had my hair cut this morning by a (junior) stylist I have not had before as my previous stylist left suddenly. The cut seems fine, but she kept hitting my head with the hairdryer whilst drying it, without apologising. Anyway to the point, when I was about to leave she said "your hair is quite thick at the back, but thin at the front isn't it?".

I admit my hair at the front is a bit wispier, but I'd always thought that was normal as I have fine hair anyway! I do have slightly frizzy hair (the new hairs grow straight out and wiggly) and get the naff 'halo' even if I straighten it. Now I am worried about what she has said, that my hair is in really bad condition or something.

I do get split ends, but mainly because my hair is fine, I have stopped straightening, so live with the frizz. Are there any hairdressers on here who might be able to reassure me? Needless to say, I will not be using this girl again!

i am no hairdresser but she sounds like she is talking out of her backside-don't be paranoid-just find another hairdresser!

I've come across a lot of juniors with no apparent talent or personality, (avoid where possible!) sadly very common nowadays. Don't worry about what she said, she was probably just struggling to make conversation and didn't have enough experience to make an informed remark. Remember you know your hair better than anyone - even an experienced stylist!

Thanks guys. I know that as a woman in my 30's I shouldn't be bothered about these sorts of comments, but my hair is my weak spot and I get paranoid about it.

Yes, I will deffo not be using her again, in fact I am loathe to go for a junior stylist again either. Learnt my lesson, luckily my sis and Mum have now cancelled their appts with her as I was the 'guinea pig'.

don't worry I am a hairdresser and hair often feels less at the sides simply because there is less hair because the hairline starts above the ears, the sides tend to be styled and brushed more so possibly a little more breakage esp in fine hair and its quite normal to have one side much thicker than the other(I have!) sounds ok to me!

Thanks Lancarra, that's really helpful, I did think that the front hair must suffer more, as that is always where most of my breakage is.

Hopefully I can just forget about it now!
