Please suggest shoes or boots to go with this dress

I've bought this dress. I only own black boots as brown doesn't suit me. Do you think I can get away with black footwear with this dress? White Stuff and Fat Face sell so many lovely things but they always seem to have brown as a base colour.

I like these boots but need a pair in chocolate brown to match the dress, which I don't think they do. Has anyone seen a similiar pair in a darker shade?

I also like these though doubt they would go.

What's the opinion on the Hush Puppies ones (previous links)? Are they too heavy-looking for the dress?

Benjy - We are twins! I have just bought a pair of boots from River Island that look to be almost exactly the same as the River Island ones (though I did like the KG biker boots another postee suggested)! And I love the dress.

If you don't want brown boots, why not get a burgundy pair? They'd look lovely with that dress and would also go with any black clothes that you've already got.

I agree with burgundy - I suggested purple but anything in this spectrum would be worth considering.

It's hard to find boots that are not black or brown, though - if anyone spots any, please broadcast it!

Katch, I've come across a couple of pairs of purple boots over the past couple of days:
