Vase shape. I am usually a jeans and top person but I have two parties in the next 3 weeks and haven't a clue what to wear.

I do like this dress but would prefer to see if i can get it in the shops so that I can try it on. Some if anyone has seen something similar please let me know.

I can't believe I am doing this but here's a pic of what I look like. I am on the left of the photo, I am 5ft 5 and a size 14.

So has anyone any suggestions of outfits that would suit me?

I am a vase shape and that dress would look terrible on me.

Nice dress, but high neck line and sleevless would be a BIG no no for me.

My favourite party dess at the moment is a black one from M and S with a low sweet heart neckline, fitted jersey material and ruched across tummy for a bit of a disguise. It's very flattering.

I'll see if I can find it or similar...

I wasn't sure about the high neck line either which is why I want to try it on first.

I am liking the idea of a disguise tummy area!! Something that covers that would be ideal.

The dress is gorgeous, depends how broad you are in the shoulders though, as I am quite wide and that style of neckline doesn't suit me. Something with a 40's silhouette, maybe in red?

I am struggling to do links, but look at the M and S website under party dresses, they have a good selection. I can't see the exact one I have but there are some others that also have the twisty ruchy thing across the tummy.

If you have good norkage I'd go for a low neckline, party season is the time to get them out. I agree, red is great, very party and celebratory, or balck but with red shoes.

If your boobs are really big, Bravissmo have some nice party dresses, flattering for big boobs but showing off the rest of your figure.

I had a look at Debenhams and M&S. Very pretty dresses in there. Have to go without the kids though so that I can try them on in peace and not have to stop for drink, food and toliet breaks as soon as i enter a shop!

thanks for the help.
