following on from my how hard it is to get shoes that are good fro the feet but look nice thread.

its like you need about 2 or 3 coats for them to wear too, dd only has one coat.
red with a fur trimmed hood.
beautiful coat but sunday took her out for a family meal in a little pink dress and the coat looked terrible with it.

oh dear !!!

I understand what you're saying mildmanneredjanitor, but my Mum had exactly that attitude when I was a child and I hated it. I vowed that my dc's wouldn't ever feel embarrassed due to what they were wearing.

So in answer to the OP, we do have a few coats/jackets for dd's, DD2's school coat was £6 is Asda, so you don't have to spend a fortune.

DD seems to have accumulated a range of coats (but re: the shoes, she has trainers and wellies and ballet shoes - that's it). She's got a fleece lined anorak with a hood, a warm winter coat, a pink short mac and a longer pink mac. But in my defence they all came in a big eBay bundle.
I don't think they need many coats.

Get her a blue duffle coat next year. It will go with everything.

SlartyBartFast · 25/11/2008 22:58

what a terrible waste of money.

ElfOnTheTopShelf · 25/11/2008 23:02

we spend about £35 on DD's coat so wouldn't want to buy two or more! Last year she had a lovely brown one, this year she has a navy blue one, both from Zara. She also has a rain mac for when its really pelting it down, but only cost a teeny bit from Asda.
As for shoes, I prefer DD to only have one pair. At the minute, she has some pink boots.

Clary · 25/11/2008 23:02

yeah blue coat always a good plan - goes with everything.

EachPeachPearMum · 25/11/2008 23:02

cantandwont please don't take this the wrong way.... but are you aware there is already a regular poster with a v similar name?
CantSleepWontSleep, who has just had a baby boy, and therefore isn't posting very much the last couple of weeks.
Your name may just cause confusion that's all...

micku5 · 25/11/2008 23:04

DD1 (5) has 3 coats, one for school, a pink one and a black one to wear with everything else

DD2 (2) has 4 but they are hand me downs from dd1 and friends.

Shitemum · 25/11/2008 23:06

My top fashion tip:
Lime green goes with everything!

lovelysongbirdfliesaway · 25/11/2008 23:20
