what shops do you go into or buy from online?

Mine are all preschoolers, so mainly from Supermarkets or Matalan, Austin, Marks and Spencer, Debenhams because they like everything or are not bothered at this stage . I know it won't be so easy when the peer pressure, fashion or coolness or whatever kicks in at a later age.

Hulababy · 25/11/2008 17:33

6y DD: Monsoon, Vertbaudet, Pumpkin Patch, Debenhams, John Lewis, Asda, M&S, Next, Adams, etc. Wherever I see anything we like.

Seeline · 25/11/2008 17:34

Mine are 7 and 4. Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury still feature high on the list as do Primark, H&M and Next. If I like something I buy it - I don't really care about where it's from. They are both growing fairly rapidly at the moment, so I can't really see the point in spending out on anything too expensive.

eekamoose · 25/11/2008 17:36

90% second hand for my dc, a girl of 7 and boy of 5 (handmedowns, jumble sales, charity shops, ebay).

When I buy anything new it generally comes from Hennes.

I always buy Next socks, Tu underpants for DS and M&S knickers for DD.

I am still on a mission to find good quality winter tights for DD that last longer than a few wears.

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 25/11/2008 17:56

Boden, John Lewis, Gap

ilovejonty · 25/11/2008 17:59

For DS 17m - Sainsburys TU range is brill, also BabyGap, Mini Boden, basics from John Lewis (vests etc) - also keep an eye on Ebay.

TheOtherMaryPoppinsFleckles · 25/11/2008 18:00

H&M is my all time favourite for children clothes, very funky, especially the baby stuff in at the moment. After that it's Next, Monsson and Boden for special stuff.

Eekamoose - M&S tights are very good quality, I have some that have lasted 5 yrs and still look ok (ish!)

Piccalilli2 · 25/11/2008 18:01

Sainsburys, H&M, occasionally John Lewis, M&S or joules (online) for nice stuff. She's 3.

PeppermintPatty · 25/11/2008 18:02

Mainly Tesco, Primark, H&M, Oxfam and NCT baby sales. And anywhere else if there's a sale on
H&M is my favourite though.

needmorecoffee · 25/11/2008 18:03

dd 4 - charity shops. teenage boys - Asda or Primark.

cyteen · 25/11/2008 18:05

DS is 12 weeks. I like John Lewis (nice soft sleepsuits, bright coloured clothes that aren't entirely blue/brown/sludge, no wanky slogans) and H&M (black popper vests!, good value, socks that stay on feet).

rubyredslippers · 25/11/2008 18:20

i am totally with you theothermarypoppins I have a bit of bee in my bonnet about this too... refuse to be tricked into spending loads AND i hate slogans, any type of Label (diesel, moschino etc #shriek#) AND anything sexy or mini-adult. theres more... but i'll contain self! But (for a girl) those things are surprisingly hard to avoid. Hennes always my first port of call, Next can be ACE but goes in for a lot of motifs and extras i feel! Boden & monsoon i buy on e-bay they wash and wear well longterm.

brightonrock2008 · 25/11/2008 20:08

Best tights gap or monsoon.Cost more but last for ages!!!

used2bthin · 25/11/2008 20:34

Love H and M but we haven't got one here. I wait till the 30%off thingys and go to Gap every now and then. Also Primark, sometimes Zara and occasionally Next. Also keep an eye out for charity shop bargains. I love Jojo bebe but its a bit out of my price range.

kiltycoldbum · 25/11/2008 20:36

hennes always first then Zara girls.

Miyazaki · 25/11/2008 20:39

H&M, Gap, Jigsaw Jr, Petit Bateau, JL, Mini Boden v rarely, Zara, Howies. (Caramel Baby & Child eek - in the sale only)

Lots of hand me downs as well. I try to buy good quality as I have 2 of the same colour.

I don't tend to buy online (Boden only) as I have found sizing varies wildly and I hate sending things back.

dizzydixies · 25/11/2008 20:40

H&M, Sainsburys, Zara when feeling flush, baby gap in the sale but mostly TK Maxx

filthymindedvixen · 25/11/2008 20:42

2 boys, 11 and 8. Charity shops, Asda, H&M, Sainos, freecycle, friends' cast offs
I am always been complimented on their style....
