Which tights?

I'm wearing a black halter-neck dress for DH's Christmas party. It's knee length sith a weird hem, guess it'd be called hankerchief. Not frilly or anything.

Do I wear sheer tights or thicker ones? Legs aren't too bad and will be wearing heels.

Also, will they stay up okay over my Spanx?

Thanks.

I think you might have to try it on with both - depends on the material it's made of, imo. If it's v floaty/sheer material, thicker tights might look um, unbalanced, for want of a better word, too heavy, iyswim.

I do spanxs over tights to diminish any lines (ooh I like a nice smooth finish )

I tend to wear 10denier nearly black tights at parties, but I am not on the style and fashion team so feel free to ignore

Thanks both. It polyester. Kind of skims over bits and has a very very slight sheen to it. Will see if I can find a picture.

Can't find one. I've only worn it once before and that was five years ago. It's from the Jasper Conran 2003 collection, but can't find a pic anywhere.

Will do as you say and try both. Just wasn't sure what the rules were this year. Can you tell I know bugger all about fashion?

Maybe even try coloured opaques? Might be a bit much though - what colour shoes are you wearing?

LilRedWG · 22/11/2008 17:46

Jackie - not sure if I've got the balls to do that. I was planning on black shoes.

Wearing shoulder length hair curled and haven't even thought of accessories yet. [bluish]
