My DH wants my Christmas List in the next few days. I can usually think of a gazillion things I would like but am really struggling for ideas this year. I'll go clothes shopping in the sales in January so dont want run of the mill stuff I would buy myself.

Any ideas? Sumptuous pamper products, make up, beautiful shoes, jewellery, or a stunning item of clothing (am size 8 and 5'6" if it helps to know such info!) ? Style is classic with a twist. Budget is around £500.

What would be on your wish list?

In your envious position, I would put down an Hermes cashmere shawl on your list. They don't come up in the sales (unless you go to Paris)which lets you off the hook in Jan. They are pricey, about £580 but will last a lifetime. There is a newish (quite 'busy') design called 'tohu bohu' that comes in a variety of colours - it's very popular and looks as though it will become a modern classic for Hermes. They are warm and light and look great all scrunched up around your neck, rock-chick style. I don't own one, but it's on my fantasy list. There's usually a couple on the Hermes. com website but try and get to a store if you can to see and feel in real life. The Hermes subforum on Purseblog.com has lots of photos of the different colourways and a whole thread devoted to this particular design.

Thank you . Have checked out those scarves and they are truly lovely.

You also got me thinking about other desireable scarves and remembered that I also love the Stephen Sprouse Louis Vuitton shawl. Its something I would never buy for myself but would be lovely to own. They are going for a fortune on ebay but have found a US site which ships internationally. I have heard that they are very fine and prone to pulling though.......any experience of this?

My friend has one of these SS scarves and I remember reading the LV thread (no pun intended, lol) on the purseforum about frays and pulls etc. I tried hers on recently and I loved it - it was quite a loose weave though so I think it would be prone to the odd pull or fray. This wouldn't really bother me, I would rather use it and love it in spite of the odd pull, at those prices you need a good cost per wear. My friend's scarf has been worn a lot and it still looked in great condition. I think it didn't feel quite as soft as Hermes cashmere and it was quite crinkly - it's very light-weight compared to the Hermes shawls. Either would be a good choice, I think the SS LV scarves are about £350. I quite like the pink/purple version although I think the natural one is most sought after. My friend bought hers in Paris - she snapped it up, they are like gold dust I think at the moment. eluxury stock them sometimes - only ship to the States though. I think if I was desperate for one, I might go up to £400 perhaps. On the other hand, I think my heart really lies with the Hermes Shawls...all in the dreams of course, totally broke at the moment, lol.
