Calling tall Mumsnetters! Anyone know where I can buy vests that are long in the body?

I'm trying to find somewhere that sells vests (underwear, not vest tops) that are nice and long - the ones I have from M&S and Gap all ride up and drive me crackers. I've looked in Long Tall Sally but they don't do underwear. Any idea?

The best place i have found long vest tops is an online clothing shop called American Apparel.. They have a uk website and a us website, if you order from the u.s website you have to wait about 4 weeks for your order as it comes all the way from Los Angeles..!
There is also a shop in Camden.
I have purchased a vest dress for £20, washes up very well, and come in loads of different colours too.!!

Topshop has a Tall section which is great for the longer of body. i get all my vests there!

Thanks for this question wilbur: I am always looking for the same thing. I'm not that tall, but I'm obviously very old-fashioned: if a vest doesnt stay tucked in, what is the point?! Can't bear a bare tummy!

They also MUST be 100% cotton. Even a whiff of lycra etc and I get all sweaty and yuck.

I am an old old woman of 34....

wilbur · 11/11/2008 11:50

Topshop? Really? I usually lose the will to live in there, after trying on 47 tops, all of which have arms that are 3 inches too short. I will give it another go though.

mrsbabookaloo - I'm not majorly tall, but v long in the body, it makes a huge difference for vest purposes. Agree about the cotton, though - a bit of lycra is ok for me but not so much that the vest does that rollerblind thing and ends up under my boobs.

I get all mine from Topshop as well, the Tall section. I'm not hugely tall but hate short vests.

Fllightthebluetouchpaper · 11/11/2008 11:53

La Redoute do some, and Gap had loads in over the summer on their sale rails.

I hate that 'exposed' feeling. I wear tights and pull them up to my norks as well

(only if they are meant to be, of course!)

I am only 5ft6 but must have a long back as vests are always too short. H&M maternity range are lovely and long and hug your tummy as well as not riding out of your jeans etc.

chequersandchess · 11/11/2008 12:12

I resort to maternity too.

tonton · 11/11/2008 12:50

Re topshop - i just use the website. Much less depresing!

PerkinWarbeck · 11/11/2008 12:57

another vote for topshop. also tesco.

I also try to buy one size too big, so that my sticky-out tum is very well covered.

kettlechip · 11/11/2008 14:50

I love topshop vests too. They're the only thing I buy in there!!
