I was trying to skirt shop on Sunday (Tongue Twister)

Are there any nice skirts around? Are there heck.

I want A line or fuller. Knee length. Patterned. Darkish colours.

Something I can try on in a shop preferable to online, altho if its fab I may be brave.

Any takers???

mrsmaidamess · 10/11/2008 16:54

Yeah I looked in Next, saw a nice kilt thing in the window. But it wasn't on the shop floor

So its not just me noticing the lack of skirts then!

Another from M&S but maybe not this!!

Dexter that last M and S skirt is hysterical! For when you want to look like a spanish senorita. God Per Una is crapola!

Thanks for suggestions. some are better than others! And as for that per Una number! My god.

I like some of the ones from M& S. But what a soul destroying experience trying to find them in my local jumble sale branch

Have you tried the white stuff they do fab skirts!

LaTrucha · 10/11/2008 21:03

I like this one at Monsoon.

Nice shaped basic.

I also bought a wool, pleated knee-length skirt in black - and they have it in dark grey - from Matalan. It's fab and a bargain. No pic on website.

onepieceoflollipop · 10/11/2008 21:07

I got one quite nice knee length black suede type skirt from Matalan. Nothing else suitable there though. It was only about £12

I think that the type of skirt you describe (although very flattering and practical for lots of us) are very rare at present.

I will watch this thread with interest.

twoluvlykids · 10/11/2008 21:13

I like this one

mrsmaidamess · 10/11/2008 22:03

ooh yeah I had forgotten about Great Plains. There is an outlet in my John Lewis.

I know the skirt of which you speak in Matalan, wool type in grey or black. they never have my size. Doh!

I'd wondered if it was just me - but I couldn't find a single skirt I liked after trekking all over Bristol and at Cribbs Causeway - kept looking at the cord and velvet skirts in the Toast catalogue - but can't afford them, so I've bought 2 cord skirts and two denim skirts on ebay to keep me going - all quite unusual skirts and v. nice - spent £19 in total so good for budget at least!

LaTrucha · 11/11/2008 09:31

MrsMaid - I could have a look for you here. What size are you? Black or grey?

lara31 · 11/11/2008 10:59

Worth a try - their sizes are pretty good adn reliable.

mrsmaidamess · 12/11/2008 16:35

Ohh la T I've only just seen your last post.

I am a 14 and would want a grey. Would you really look for me? I would pay p+p obviously.

HI Maidamess - I've got your skirt. How do we do this? It's not wise to put personal info up here is it?
