Seems that it falls to me to start a new thread - sorry you can't join us at the moment, WWW but we'll try to stick to the principles, namely:-

The rules (anyone can join):

  • Sunscreen at all times;
  • No or little booze - it's allowed at the weekend if you want it;
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible, 30 mins if you can;
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day;
  • Apply body cream as often as possible;
  • Use hand cream;
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if poss;
  • Eat healthily;
  • Be happy.

The idea is that we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

Some people are doing India and Neris's Idiot Proof Diet (Atkins, more or less), others are doing Slimy World, others are just being as healthy as possible.

Welcome everyone, have a good week.

Finally flu-free here and I managed to avoid it

Not too good bootcamp-wise. When are we ?

Am still booze free though (more than two weeks) but am out with Dodgy Women tomorrow night so that will put paid to it! I also need to drink more water VP, only seem to be drinking PG Tips just lately.

VanessaParody · 20/11/2008 21:04

This is thread-bare, no?!

I'm really losing my voice now. Which with 4 DCs and a dog is a recipe for disaster. I can't believe I've been ill for over 2 weeks.

Congratulations to the saggar-household for seeing off the germs. This side of Christmas is always awful for colds, it must be the sudden chill & damp.

eemie - good luck with your 'spare' buyer. I hope it does result in a sale (preferably the one with the highest offer).

I had soup for breakfast and a crusty roll for lunch. Steak pie, fat chips & beans for dinner because I really couldn't be bothered to cook. Still not drinking enough water.

Am lashing on hand cream like there's no tomorrow but hands are still dry and cracking. Face is holding up well. Must get an early night.

Just had a HUGE mug of hot chocolate. Blardy fantastic - sooo much nicer than all that hot water and lemon .

It's freezing cold here - but on the up side my dear parents have taken the kids out for a walk into the village so for the first time in months . . . I AM ALONE. It is amazing.

Bootcamping going terribly. Have had some bad nights sleep due to dd1 being a pest. Still drinking too much wine as have guests here, and really it's rude not to surely? Not drinking enough water and moisturising is hit and miss. Sooo all in all 2/10.

Oh God is now pouring with rain, will have to go and collect parents and children before they get soaked. DARN IT.

Hello all

Just looking in. Baby due in 10 days so bootcamping at a minimum. Skin gones to pot, lots of water, no exercise, lots of driving. Lots of handcream, nothing on the trotters (can't reach) and a bit of SPF 15. High on happiness, though a little apprehensive.

WWW, if you are reading I hope things are OK and that you will be back soon.

Saggars, glad you avoided the plague. My 2 both ill, but I am resolutely snot free. VP, am sorry you are suffering. Loving the name, though .

Hello to everyone else and to all the other lurkers. Will try to keep up over the next few weeks.

Love to all.

VanessaParody · 21/11/2008 20:25

Oh CM how exciting! Another bootcamp baby is imminent! You must be exempt from bootcamp, except perhaps for sleeping lots and moisturising. And posting, natch! And don't make us wait too long for the announcement OK?!

Mmmmm to hot chocolate.

Do you know, I think I'm feeling a tiny bit better. We have guests this weekend so I will be staying indoors a lot, keeping warm as we'll have the fires going all day & night, and eating lots of food. If I'm not fully recovered by Monday I'll be most surprised.

Nothing else to report. I think we may as well stay on this thread for another week and await all our lost lambs.

Enjoy the weekend.

I am MNetting in bed . Feel a bit rough after night out with Dodgy Women friends, but we laughed A Lot

eemie · 22/11/2008 13:25

Glad to see a few people struggling back. Mildly ill myself and disinclined to do much. Dd has very sore throat, wanted breakfast in bed today (a first for her) and is still in jammies. Feel an episode of hibernation coming on...

But have been out for walk in woods with puppy, who was very good, and cheered myself up reading the unprofessional moments thread.

You should be pampering rather than bootcamping, chutneymary

Met a woman yesterday who has a four-month baby born through surrogacy (her sister) after lots of failed IVF - and is 14 weeks pregnant. Happened naturally. She was looking a little stunned.

This thread does seem a bit abandoned. WOuld someone like to start a new one to revitalise us all?

SO sorry I've not been on - mania of new house, nursery inductions, readying self for return to work (in a week!), doing loads of pre-work work (argh) and the fact that the computer is in DS's (oh yes, also known as my ) room has meant MNing time severely circumscribed. Gah! Now, what's everyone else's excuses? Eemie, please please do start another thread; time to regroup/marshal forces/add your own military metaphor.

Oh yes and in bootcamping news, all has been disastrous. But! I did buy some more eve lom today (really can't afford it but decided I deserved a treat ). So my face will soon surely glow (double )

Onwards, ladies!
