What should I wear for a surprise 40th party in a wine bar?

I have fairly chunky (and short ) legs and a long body, but norkage is good.

My arms are looking OK, I'm gyming away the bingo wings and I quite like my back/shoulders.

I would like to wear heels.

Jeans, a nice fitted top and heels? It's a bit boring sounding but it's my standby for everything I'm not sure of. If it were me I have a black sleeveless crossover jersy top (thick shoulders not spaghetti or anything) and I would wear a wispy/sequinny/sparkly bolero over (not good bingo wings here) and the most extravagant shoes and bag I can muster. Some statement jewellrey also.

Anyone else going you could confer with?

if you are showing off norks or shoulders you need jeans or trousers, not a short skirt. one or teh other

That sound good.

I do have a bit of a tum, but I can magic pant that, I hope.

I've got the little black bolero thing already.

What are good jeans to buy? They'd need to be dark?

Also, and thanks for your help - what shoes should I wear with the jeans? I'm crap at 'seeing' things, IYKWIM.
