Saw an ad in a magazine for this the other day - never heard of such a thing! What do you do with it? Why might you need it?

I went to work with unwashed hair last week as I slept through my alarm. I must be a skanky ho.

unknownrebelbang · 08/11/2008 15:44

TBH I don't want to wash my hair every day, it's not good for it, even though I have quite greasy hair.

I rarely use Batiste (or talc, lol) but it does have its place, as I don't find it minging.

(rebel counts on one hand the number of times she has used it, but even so).

You can get bumble and bumble hair powder which is the same thing, comes in different colours too and gives a surfy look.

nappyaddict · 10/11/2008 16:43

where can you get the bumble one from? i use it a couple of times a week cos i only wash my hair every 3-4 days.

Upwind · 10/11/2008 16:52

It works well!

I keep some in the cupboard and only use in emergencies - maybe twice in the past year. The days I have felt the need to use it are at those times where everything has gone wrong and it is a godsend.

VinegarTits · 10/11/2008 16:54

I shower twice daily, however my hair takes 30 mins to blowdry (if i dont blowdry i look like a walking frizzy armpit)so i dont alway wash it in the shower, its a pita, how much is this stuff, i want some.

Upwind · 10/11/2008 16:58

am interested in the cornflour option mentioned below, never thought of trying that...

Scootergrrrl · 10/11/2008 17:00

There an Erin O'Connor one in Boots, so it can't be THAT skanky to use it.

SilentTerror · 10/11/2008 17:01

Batiste excellent,costs about £1.75 I think.
Great ,especially on longer hair that takes ages to dry like mine.I wash it every 3 days usually,Batiste makes it look more respectable on the last day

Polgara2 · 10/11/2008 17:21

Ooh always used batiste as a teenager with very very very greasy hair and it is now a godsend for dd1 when we both realise she has forgotten to wash her hair yet again!!! (she is supposed to be being responsible but she hasn't quite got the hang of it yet )

nappyaddict you can get the bumble&bumble one from space NK, and also on this website:

hair powder

It is good that you buy the appropriate colour because if one is white, would that not look noticable on dark brown hair. It is a good way create that messy tousled voluminous look too

JRocks · 10/11/2008 18:08

I use the Erin one from Boots - not instead of washing my hair but, as was mentioned earlier, when you have a fringe that you fiddle with constantly it gets greasy quickly. Better that than nip home in your lunch break for a shower. It's good for texturising hair to make it stay in style too.

And no, washing your hair everyday isn't always a Good Thing. It strips all the natural oils out.
