What's all this about mineral make-up?

Seem to keep coming across articles about mineral foundations, but don't really understand what the fuss is about. Do any wise mnetters have experiences/recommendations to share?

I use it for evenings out. It is very airbrushed looking which I love but bit too much for the daytime I think, and I like looking like I have makeup on so be warned if you don't

I've tried a couple of different ones. Loreal is cheap bt really heavy. Best one I've found is Bare Escetuals which I buy on line but I have hear that Debenhams have started selling it. It is dearer but it is so light and looks fab!

It's not good if you are wrinkled like a prune have mature skin. The powder sort of settles into the creases and highlights them. It does the same thing with dry or flaky patches if you have that problem. It's excellent for oily skin apparently.

It's excellent on my sensitive but slightly oily skin - and doesn't look too heavy either. I buy Lily Lolo online as they have a great range of shades and do 99p tester pots. A good kabuki brush is a must as you have to polish the powder into your skin

Thanks everyone, I have had a look on the lily lolo site and might order some testers.
