What is the brand of tights that REALLY hold your tummy in?

I have a new posh frock for a fancy do but I now realise I tried the frock on before lunch on a day I skipped breakfast, and the fancy do is an evening dinner. I'll never remember to hold my tummy in during the pre-dinner drinkies, still less after the meal! I feel industrial strength tummy control pants are the way forwards - what are they called and where do I get them?

Trinny and Sussanah have some in John Lewis. Also Spandex pants.

you need some spanx, or some tummy control tights from m&s

belly like a boy

Spanx, spanx, spanx - they are magic.

Spanx it is then. Thank you all.

Now, I wonder if the webcontrol systems at work will let me google that?!

Ha! The web monitoring system here does not let me look at lingerie or swimwear but The Most Glamorous Lady In The Office assures me that Spanx pants are crotchless. I am far too frumpy for that! Are the tights crotchless too?

Glam Lady says her mum's Good Housekeeping recommends the John Lewis tummy control pants. Which have a crotch...

Donna Karan Essential Toner tights are just brilliant, too. A little more expensive but they last and last and give the most perfect line over all the lumps and bumps.

Wore them on my wedding day and they allowed me to wear a column dress without really worrying too much about the back view as I walked down the aisle.

I am tempted by spanx, though...

What about Spanx pants ( which aren't really crothchless, there's just material which overlaps so you don't have to take them off to wee) plus M&S tummy control tights (which have a crotch. Of course all your internal organs will be squished together and your bladder will be so squashed you'll need to keep going to the loo but you'll look flat tummyed and fabulous!
