Okay, am looking for a bit of re-vamp of myself, will post pictures on here later as I can't in work, but here's a brief description of how I am and how I want to be. Please tell me if it's completely insane or a good idea?

I'm 5ft1, size 16/18, good features are eyes and boobs. Hair above shoulder, brown, boring, fine and straight.

Firstly, I would like to know if I could take blonde hair? I'm pale and have lots of moles/beauty spots and brown eyes.

Secondly, I need to find a dress for a night out but all the ones I like just would look awful. Can't show leg above knee as they're terrible!
I know it's not much to go on, any ideas???

Definitely go for the lighter hair! My hair is very fine (Lost lots after having DS3 and it wasn't thick to start with!) but I recently had it lightened using three different honey blond colours and it's made such a difference (Top photo on profile was taken when I got home from the hairdressers after having it done). It really does look thicker and my colouring generally looks brighter.

You wouldn't have to go bright nordic blond straight away. Just go a couple of shades lighter than you are now then, if you want to, go a little lighter each time you have the roots done. It's not such a shock if you do it gradually.

What sort of night out are you going on?

BibiThree · 03/11/2008 12:54

Thanks, I might get brave and give it a go! Will speak to my hairdresser.I quite fancy thicker feeling hair

Okay, picture on profile for limited time only! Whaddayasay?

Haven't got a body shot sorry, but am short and pudgy.

Oh and night out is just night out with mates in big city, lots of dancing and probably falling over.

I like your hair - looks lovely. I wouldn't do anything too drastic., maybe have some long layers put through to give it some oomph?

Personally colour wise, I don't think you will suit blonde, how about having some nice chocolate, copper and red highlights to brighten it all and give some depth

BibiThree · 03/11/2008 18:22

Furball thank you, but I've dyed it this colour for about 6 years now, before that I had it my natural colour (light mouse brown) and cropped. Am totally fed up of having the odd highlight and reds really don't suit me, they emphasise the rosacea (sp?) on my cheeks.

You look ever so pretty in your picture and your hair looks lovely and shiny. Not fine and boring at all.

Why don't the dresses you like suit you? Would you feel more comfortable in trousers? Could you wear jeans then dress them up with a bright top and killer heels?

Lots of lovely dresses in French Connection right now. Could you go in and try a few on and see what suits you? Take along the shoes you will be wearing too.

giraffescantdancethetango · 04/11/2008 00:57

You are really pretty, I like your hair the colour it , what about a sidey fringe?

How about a dress with trousers underneath?

BibiThree · 04/11/2008 16:48

Thanks for all your suggestions and compliments . I've just grown out a sidey fringe but may go there again. Dress over trousers doesn't work on someone my height, I just look like I've forgotten to take my trousers off!

There are some gorgeous dresses in FC but they are a little out of my price range unless it was a really special occasion, which it's not, it's just a fancy night out with some friends (with a view to wearing the dress to some Christmas parties too).

I don't feel like dresses suit me because I'm short legged and short bodied and big busted and have a pot belly from the children so always feel bunched up in the middle and wider in dresses. That said, I always wear dark jeans/trousers and all my friends look so girly in comparison I think it's time to get a dress style that suits me.

bibi

from your pic i dont think you shul d do anything to your hair
its shiny and a great colour and suits you

its so shiny! if anything get a semi permanent but close to your natural colour to give it extra shine
i like the style too tbh

dresses
what style would you like? strpless? with sleeves? what colour?

nailpolish · 04/11/2008 17:04

fab dress

nailpolish · 04/11/2008 17:05

this too

bythepowerofgreyskull · 04/11/2008 17:08

don't dye your hair blonde please!! it is so gorgeous and shiney!

BibiThree · 04/11/2008 22:24

Really? No blonde? Have to admit I was swayed by a colleague telling me I'd look "all cute and young" with blonde hair and a fringe, and "no where near 30"

How hard will it be to go back to brown if I really do hate it?
Thanks for dress suggestions too, love that sparkly simply be one!

Also, does anyone know how asos dress sizes come up? If I get an 18 and am an 18 in normal places like Next, am likely to be able to fit into one from asos?

nailpolish · 05/11/2008 09:05

id say yes, bibi

Lizzylou · 05/11/2008 09:13

Love the sequin Simply Be dress, I'd echo the not going blonde, perhaps a bit "toffee" or "caramel" coloured? Can you tell I'm hungry?
You are so pretty and young looking

BibiThree · 05/11/2008 19:56

I am really amazed people think I look young, I feel blimmin' ancient. Am going to order some dresses this week and be v v good and keep one, return the rest. I swear!
Still undecided about the hair, am really v bored of brown hair now.

OP posts:
LaTrucha · 05/11/2008 20:09

I think you look young and lovely. Don't dye your hair blonde. I don't think it would go with your skin. I think this dress is very nice. I know it's cheapie and quite plain but I think it could look great with some silver accessories. An you could wear it for day too.

Off to look for some more...

LaTrucha · 05/11/2008 20:16

Nice but perhaps not your colour?

comes in diffeent colours

a steal

I like pretty much all the Bravissimo ones.

Any good or am I barking up the wrong hemline?

BibiThree · 05/11/2008 20:18

Wow bravissimo do dresses? thank you, am in shopping heaven with all these suggestions!

OP posts:
LaTrucha · 05/11/2008 20:21

I'm craving a Bravissimo dress myself
