Not happy with haircut......

and feel should complain about it but it's all a bit awkward. I didn't go to my usual hairdresser as she was on sick leave and getting a bit expensive so thought might be good chance to have something different. Looked around on tinternet for some new styles and went for a couple of consultations. chose one and booked it up for a 'restyle' which is more expensive than cut and finish as takes longer. However not happy with results - its not that I think it is a 'bad' cut but dont feel has been restyled. Perhaps partly my fault for not explaining what I wanted or being undecided. Basically had sort of bob shape which was nearly shoulder length and wanted something shorter and different shape. However feel I have just shorter version with few more layers in. I suspected this after had it done and sort of said it wasn't what i expected etc but thought would wait until i washed it - however maybe this was the wrong thing to do? If it was something I had bought in a shop and no good would go back but a bit different with haircut - bit embarrassing and dont want to get into argument (about what I did or didn't ask for) iyswim. However this haircut cost me a lot of money and was supposed to be a 'restyle' but I dont think it is. Any advice please?

Do you think they can cut it into what you want?

Go back and ask them to restyle it for you - they should be happy to if they value your custom.

It probably is a restyle its more than a trim.

I know what you mean about feeling embarassed and not wanting to go back, but really you should.

Ask them to restyle - they will be ok. I did it once with a colour that faded really quickly - I was so embarassed going back, but they were fine and just did it again for me.

Bit the bullet and am going back at 4pm today. Am a bit nervous which i know is stupid...when i phoned the receptionist said 'oh are you having trouble managing it' which I was a bit annoyed about. I was talking to a friend and she said she thought my hair looked pretty much the same and if I don't think I have had my hair 'restyled' then regardless of what the hairdresser did then I haven't!

my hairdresser always offer to me to come back in a week if I'm not completely happy. I thought they all did that.

I've just had same experience but in reverse on saturday - went in for a trim and got a restyle.....luckily i know a cousin of a friend who's a hairdresser and who's work I have seen - so she is going to 'save' it for me. (basically the fringe was cut about an inch too short and one side is longer than tuther - fringe can't be saved, i will just pin back until it grows out, but want sides levelling out so it can grow)

Went in on Tuesday and she was very nice - we discussed what i want done etc etc and they agreed to do it FOC - although not before trying to charge me for a cut!

Just hope she cuts it well now!!

Thanks
