My DP bought me straightners for xmas and ive still not used them (oops!). i havent got a clue how to use them and also how to style your hair too with what type of styling product.

my hair is very thick and heavy shoulders length and alot of layers and parted in the middle with feathers layers in front.

Ceraminc straighteners are a necessity for living sanely! No woman should expect to have to survive without them! Just plug em in.. grab a lump of hair with 'em.. and slide it down the length of the hair! Presto! (Continue round whole head obviously!)

GHS are the best.. but rather unaffordable... there are some lovely GHD 'copies' on Ebay! I got some for £20 when the 'real thing' costs over a £100!

Have a go... you will be addicted! I look at pictures of myself 'pre-straigteners' and think 'NOOOOOOO!! How could I have left the house!! )

hi!!
put a heat straightening product on it or a frizz free serum on your hair. you need to section the hair into small bits use the straightners and clamp them over the hair and glide it down. when you get to the feathery parts you can flick it up.

Dry it until its bone dry, apply a heat protector (I use Tigi stuff, its purple) use clips to separate your hair out into thin layers, like when you blow dry your hair properly. Then from the bottom layer of hair to the top pull the straightners through at a nice even speed. If you do this will every bit of your hair it will be poke straight. If you just straighten the underneath and leave the front layers it will be more natural/hippy.

Get thee some GHD's! The best. Ever

addie81 · 25/07/2010 22:37

In case anyone is interested - after several pairs of GHDs I now have a pair of Vogetti straighteners which are made by Paul Mitchell. They use them in top salons in london instead of GHD's because they are actually better, and they are slightly less expensive at about £70. I have had them for over a year and highly recommend them. better than my previous pairs of GHDs.
