Which are genuine Ugg boots?

I am looking for some Ugg boots for a friends birthday and getting a bit confused!

Is there one particular brand which is considered to be the genuine original Ugg boot?

I have found these but not sure if they are real Uggs!

Mrsmogs, tell your "friend" to bog off. Like many in the Oz zone, I wear them as slippers round the house in winter rather than outside, but that's me.

I loathe the "too old" shite. You do what you want to do.

I still wear short skirts when I want to (with black tights, it must be said) and no-one has made a snide remark - and lived.

luciababy I have got my late night/early morning Internet Police hat on while I wait for a taxi and this post (and all your others) has been reported as spam. Try harder next time eh?

Welcome to www.bootro.com, the largest independent authorized online retailer of UGG Australia in the world.

I have Whooga boots I purchased last year after reading sooooo so many things about Uggs I decided to give up on the Ugg brand and just give somethign different a go. I was soooo happy I did, these boots are the same as Uggs if not better and at a cheaper price too. The only thing that might be different on tehm is the outer material seems to be softer than that of Uggs but that in my opinion makes them more comfortable. after a year of owning them im still so happy with them and now want to purchase another pair, if I hadn't clicked on teh link to Celtic Boots, I would have without a question purchased from Whooga once more, but I am now sooo tempted to try Celtic. Especially as the boots can be machine washed and Im not sure they can with Whooga I wouldnt like to try it, but with Whooga, for approx £20, you can get your boots picked up taken away and cleaned/restored back to their former glory and returned to you within 5 days i think. but after having htem for a year mine still look good as new, Id just like the conveninece of being able to wash them IF i got stuck out in the rain with them and got them muddy. P.s does anyone have their own personla review on celtic boots? the pictres dont really show much on tehir website, e.g. the back of the boot or inside the boot. thanks :)

I have Australia Sheepskin boots and Bearpaw boots, 3 pairs in total and I LOVE them. I got the bearpaws with 'lugsole' in NY and can wear them in the rain and snow. Keep my feet nice and toasty and dry!

Personally I am not a huge fan of UGG boots, think they are over priced.

My ozzy friends cant understand our obsession with them, to them they are surfer dude shoes or slippers. Grin

Fucking hell, this has brought out the spammers in droves, hasn't it? I am tempted by either the celtic sheepskin ones or the kiwi sheepskin ones. I will not be buying UGG Australia ones; they are a total rip off!

monstersX2 · 06/09/2011 08:54

Quick question, Have been wearing cheapos for the last few years but think i might try the whoogas, what is the sizing like? Im a size 7 but should i get a 6?

warmandwooly · 06/09/2011 13:51

I also have some Emu's from TK Maxx. I bought my first pair of Uggs from an outlet shoe shop. They were a little dirty and were therefore reduced. Isn't there an Ugg outlet at Bicester Village that you could ring and ask about.

warmandwooly · 06/09/2011 14:15

I got them from a McArthur Glen outlet called Daniel footwear. They have an Ugg outlet online. They have some nice cream knitted Uggs for less than seventy pounds and also Ugg scarves etc. Might be worth a look.

DoubleDegreeStudent · 06/09/2011 16:47

I've had some "ugg style" boots from Australia that were merino wool (ended up being chewed apart by the dog 2 months later - huff), some black ugg boots and some brown emu boots. Emu are leagues ahead, in my opinion. The soles on the my proper uggs are really slippy now they've started to wear down, and they are just foam so they do wear down. And the lining has gone a bit flat. I wear them quite a bit, but they haven't lasted as well as they should do.

Emus have a sturdier sole, and you can take the inner fleecy sole out so that when it wears down you can buy a new one. I bought mine in Jones' sale, so ended up being about half the price of my uggs, but I can't find them on their website at the moment.

notapizzaeater · 06/09/2011 17:02

i got a pair of the button ones (Ben Bailey ??) for my birthday in Feb - By May I had worn a hole in the toe - apparently (according to Ugg) I walk funny so no refund !!

Bigbe · 20/10/2011 18:44

The UGG Australia are waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy over priced .Ive got a pair of Shepherd's Life .Cheaper ,as good maybe even better .Theyve got some other nice styles apart from the Classic Ugg too .

By the way Ive tried lods of diferent water profers over the years .3M Scotch Gard is the best by far.It dos take 12 hours to dry though and it stinks until its dry ,do it in the garage or similar

aussieborn · 04/12/2011 17:04

Just ordered a pair of Whooga Ugg boots. They are fabulous and my first pair have lasted over 4 years so it is now time for another pair. If you want nice cosy feet ths winter, I can highly recommend them. Can't wait till my new pair arrives!

bottleofbeer · 07/12/2011 21:09

I've got a feeling I've just bought a pair of fake Deckers, they're claiming to be genuine sheepskin etc...etc...and that I would have no issue with, but they have the Ugg Australia tags on the back of the heel. I have real Deckers here and from the photos then yeah they are real, assuming of course these are photos of the boots I've bought and not photos lifted from the Ugg Aus site.

Looked a totally genuine website, said it was in the UK and delivery would be 2-5 working days. Looking more closely at the site the spelling errors are terrible and tbh it's become obvious this is a China based business and they're actually being shipped from China and not the UK. Worrying now that I've been had as when I emailed about the tracking number they said I should have it in another couple of days (more than a week since ordering - so much for 2-5 working days delivery) apparently it's a common scam, a tracking number that never materialises - nor the item. Oh and it screams free shipping all over the site, no hidden fees or customs charges yet my credit card statement is showing £7 more has been taken than the price of the boots. We shall see :(

bottleofbeer · 07/12/2011 21:12

But just to add to that my genuine Deckers are the cardy style. They're bobbling up really badly and they run so big that I fear in time they'll just be too big as the cardy style literally are just knitted wool uppers. So tbf, providing I do actually get these boots, as long as they are genuine sheepskin with rigid heels I don't even care that they've tried to pass them off as Deckers because I'm not particularly impressed by them anyway.

Really pp?!

DisTwinkleyMincePies · 18/12/2011 08:53

I was wondering about getting a pair of ugg style slippers for my MiL for Xmas (yes, she is one of the fabled MiLs - legendary for her niceness).

She's a diabetic (so the cosy thing appealed) and in NI (so double cosiness required). Trouble is she's just (yesterday) slipped in the slush and broken her upper arm.

Are there any of these ugg stylee things that have really good grippy soles?

I am actually in Australia so could wander down to Brisbane, but I'm very lazy and it's Christmas hols until Jan 23rd and my idea of hell is shopping with my dc! Grin

jerseypearl · 18/12/2011 09:29

Having had real uggs which only lasted 2 winters. I am totally converted to Celtic sheepskin lovely quality and cheaper too

Knownothingknowitall · 18/12/2011 09:48

I've got the the just sheepskin slippers (half price in River Island). They have a non-slip sole and so comfy that I haven't taken them off in 72 hours!

scarlet76 · 18/12/2011 17:08

I think you have to decide if you are wanting a pair of boots with the 'ugg' logo. IMO, they are nice sheepskin boots but you are paying for the branding. As I am too stingy refuse to do this, I got a pair from Just Sheepskin. They are nice quality, warm and I got them for £80 with a discount code. I would have paid far more for 'uggs'
