Aveda salons - worth it?

I am considering going to one, they are relatively pricey - are they worth it?

haven't been to any hairdresser since 2005. but do buy aveda products, really good value as they last ages and do job. also only stuff my sister isn't allergic to.

depends- what you having done? I have had better hair cuts than I had at my local aveda salon but their hair colour is just fantastic and lasts well.

Cut not colour. Well, maybe colour next month . I just wondered if they tended to be of a certain standard, IYSWIM.

I have friends who swear by the products...

I go to an Aveda salon here in Melbourne. Really fab. My hair colour is the best its ever been and the products I buy from them are brilliant for my hair (Damage Control spray is fantastic in harsh Aussie sun for example).
They sell the make up too and I like the eyeshadows but I hated the mascara - if I got the teeniest tiny speck of it in my eye it would really string and make my eyes water unbelievably (so I am back to the Lancome mascara)

If just a cut LL then really it will only be as good as the stylist surely? The guy who cut my hair in NZ was better than the Aveda guy here (although he is pretty Ace too)

I know ghosty, but I just wondered if the very fact of it being Aveda linked meant it was a high quality salon. ARGH I hate changing hairdressers

No. not worth it, overpriced imvho. I've been to the one in Covent Garden a couple of times and have been disappointed both times I had collected my points as I spend a lot on Aveda products so thought I might as well use them for a cut in the salon, Kept me waiting for 20- 30 mins both times - changed stylist at last minute etc.

The only place I would recommend which is fab is the Aveda Academy also in the Covent Graden Salon - small fee for all services. Highly qualified 'students' who are just getting use to Aveda products iyswim.
