Bra Sizes

I really need some help to find out my bra size. I need to get a maternity bra and in a few weeks will be getting my nursing bras.

Most websites say to measure underneath and then the fullest part. But the measurement charts never go up to what measurements I get. I did find an interactive bra sizer which said I am a 44D. But nowhere sells those sizes.

HELP PLEASE!!!

Get measured in a decent shop - John Lewis are good.

What dress size are you? A 44 anything is pretty rare.

To find your size you need to measure directly under your breasts, this will give you the band size. hen measure around the fullest part of your breasts (if you have long breasts you might need to put a bra on to get a correct measurement). Measure in inches.

The difference between the two is the cup size: band size +1 " = a cup, +2" = b cup and so on.

Any shop that trys to tell you to add 4" inches to your band measurement is wrong, the industry standard changed years ago.

Bra sizes do vary per model and manufacturer just like clothes, so go with what fits best rather than what it says on the tin! The band should be tight.

Bravissimo are fantastic.

kayzisexpecting · 10/10/2008 12:50

I'm a size 14.

Bravissimo dont have any sizing charts on their website so I can't find out what I am meant to be.

This website says I am a 44B.

I think I might have to persuade my mum to take me shopping so I can get measured.

Don't get your nursing bras yet!
Your chest size will reduce once baby is out, and your cup size will probably increase.

call bravissimo - they should be able to help you over the phone
do mail order and if they aren't right return them

Would second the Bravissimo if you can get to one of their shops they were great. Assistant looked at me and told me what size to try I did and it was perfect no tape measures involved. When I measured myself I was about a 36 - 38E but actually came away witha 34G which is so much comfier, now i really know what a good fitting bra feels like!

Kayz- I am a 44b and a size 24-26 on top. A size 14 I would expect to be no bigger than a 38

kayzisexpecting · 10/10/2008 13:08

Just rang Bravissimo and she said she thinks I just need to go up to a 38E or maybe a F. Which sounds much nicer than a 44D.
