I've also got some from Duo which fit me well. M&S ones are no where near wide enough - I'm 43 cm on the calf too. A friend had a problem with her Duo boots and wasn't too happy about the customer service but I've had no problems.

Evans or Shoetailor.com

Got some boots from Duo last month. They are fab - first time I've ever been able to zip up a pair of boots. If you live in London it's well worth going in to the shop.

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 08/10/2008 18:58

Hmm. Just found tape measure. 44cm. Combination of years of school lacrosse and (ahem) inbuilt thermal insulation.

Once read a humorous article in a magazine which said that one good outcome of the demise of school sport would be the end of girls having legs like a Roman centurion.

BloodshotEyeballsintheScarySky · 08/10/2008 19:27

LOL @ centurion! That describes me alright!

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 08/10/2008 22:08

But it is true, isn't it? Every time I go to Hadrian's Wall, Rome or anywhere else where they have models of centurions sporting their leather mini skirts, they have legs uncannily like my own. [reconciled emoticon]

My Duo boots are in the post, cant do links, but they are brindiski? Cant wait, my lovely calf measures in at 45 so I win!

JackieNo · 08/10/2008 22:22

Brindisi - lovely.

But I think I win - 48 . Combination of being fat, and doing lots of ballet when a kid.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 09/10/2008 09:56

Sorry Jackie you don't I am 49 (the shame)

JackieNo · 09/10/2008 12:25

FiveGoMad. Oh, Ok then. You can have the prize (if only it was a pair of duo boots, eh?).

scampadoodle · 09/10/2008 12:30

Laurie, I am 42/43cm too (& only a size 12). Finding Duo was a godsend. It's ridiculous that people with 39cm calves can't find boots on the high street.

I too would recommend going to a Duo fitting room first, if you can. I definitely would have ordered the wrong size if I hadn't.

scampadoodle · 09/10/2008 12:32

I should add, I'm a size 12 body not feet!

miffymum · 09/10/2008 12:39

I can't fit into most high-street stores boots either which is irritating as I don't think my calves are THAT big. Haven't got a tape measure, so can't prove it.

I got some great boots from an independent store they're a make called Tamaris, sure you can find them online and they're cut a bit more generously - I can get my calves and jeans in without that scary feeling of cutting off circulation to my feet.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 09/10/2008 13:59

Do Duo come up big or small on the actual size - unsure whetehr to get a 5 or a 6? Am a 5 in Clarkes, Next but seem to be a 6 everywhere else.

earthpixie · 09/10/2008 15:46

Legroom and Marisota do reasonable boots for the chunky of calf.
