skirt/hair length vs age

i'm curious; do people think there's an absolute cut off point beyond which having long hair or wearing short skirts becomes automatically muttonish?

is there a grey area depending on style (e.g. stilettos & leopard skin vs wooly tights and chunky boots) or perceived age (e.g. the "shock" factor of seeing someone's face after seeing them from behind).

if not hair/skirt length what have you decided that you are "too old" for style-wise? sadly or with relief?

Nothing wrong with short skirts if you have lovely legs at any age.

Most women's legs start to droop and their hair to grey by mid-forties/early fifties.
