I keep seeing an ad on TV for sandpaper which removes hair from legs - please tell me it doesn't work?

It looks so easy & safe

It can't be real?

Surely it's a con

I've bought it before from Boots (v cheap)
It works if you have stubble / want the silky feel
It wouldn't de-yeti a yeti

SharpMolarBear · 05/10/2008 14:35

Last time I bought it it was about £1.50 for 3 bits, so worth it even if you decde it's useless

KatyMac · 05/10/2008 14:35

really??

I may be a yeti

Well once you've de yeti-ed in the usual way, use one of these to make your legs really silky. The use it every couple of days to keep them that way

FrayedKnot · 05/10/2008 14:40

Would it work for the day afetr you've shaved and have a 5 o'clock shadow?

SharpMolarBear · 05/10/2008 14:47

On your legs you mean? Yes I think so!
If you're a man - I don;t know these things but wouldn't recommend using it on your face!

tissy · 05/10/2008 14:49

I used to use silkymitts

they do work

muggglewump · 05/10/2008 15:37

That pedi egg advert makes me feel sick, when they empty out the dried foot skin

palaver · 05/10/2008 15:39

silkymit website

JJ · 05/10/2008 15:43

I have something like the Pedi Egg but made by Microplane. It's not as satisfying as you'd think - I get better results using a raw pumice stone (some have a coating, wtf?) in the shower. And clipping off my toe skin with toenail clippers, mmmm.

It is really fun to empty though.

JJ · 05/10/2008 15:44

Do you use each mitt once or can you reuse?

NoblesseOblige · 05/10/2008 15:46

i think they're crap. it takes ages and only does tiny patches at a time. i have better things to do than sandpaper my legs

charchargabor · 05/10/2008 15:49

I want a pedi egg too. Do boak a bit at emptying the skin into the bin though.

I tried them years ago. Never again.

FrayedKnot · 05/10/2008 16:11

LOL I meant legs

I do have the odd chin hair though

CarGirl · 05/10/2008 16:13

I mind them really good even on my yeti legs, you hve to be gentle or you can "burn" your skin.

Great for knees - no nicks from the razor.

procrastinatingparent · 05/10/2008 16:20

I remember these! Silky Mitts!

IIRC, they weren't bad for a little bit of stubble, and did make your legs feel very soft afterwards. But those were the days when I had enough time to sit around sandpapering.

missmama · 05/10/2008 16:24

Lol Boots do one of these for [whispers] facial hair too.
Dont ask me how I know! I cant be the only person to have used them

SharpMolarBear · 05/10/2008 16:30

Silky Mitts that's it!
Ouch to facial hair- that must sting
