So the rest of us can shamelessly copy be amazed by your shopping prowess!!!!! May also enourage those of us trying to de-frump!

I went shopping today and brought a cute blouse thingy from H&M - in dark purple (trying to break my black habit), short capped sleeves, a few flat ruffles at the top with some small black buttons down the front! Not smock style but great for disguising muffin tops!

I had to go to the tip today.

I bought a lamp holder and a wooden child's desk and chair for £3 at the dump of all places.

Am going to change my name to Stig.

Yummm Baklava.

The really sad thing is, I went shopping today (in Reading) and I've been looking forward to it for weeks! (Shopping trips with DS are a trial and had to wait until DP was able to come too.)

And I discovered that I have lost the power to shop! I was totally crap. I bought:

-A pack of sleeved bibs in John Lewis (grabbed at speed) that turned out to be 12-18 months, not 6-12 months. (damn)
-A pair of 'fat lady' hold-yer-postpartum-tum-in pants (flexees) that, despite being size L, are not L enough! (sulks)

-attempted to buy a pair of M&S Roma indigo jeans (to supplement the one and only pair of jeans I can fit into since childbirth) but they didn't have size 16S for shortarses like me.
-attempted to buy Cod's short suede boots (the school run ones ) but there were only three ruddy pairs in the entire store! None of which were right size. Cod's influence obviously widespread and potent.

-3 for 2 on Dr. Seus books in Waterstones! That was the only successful purchase I made.

Yes, we did get some useful stuff for DS, but I wanted to have a mini splurge to make myself feel less fat and frumpy, and all I came away with is a pair of horrendously huge pants that will have to be returned (if they'll take them).

Gah. Sorry to whine.
