Looks fantastic on,very "period drama" though not exactly "trendy" but It's lovely on. Thoughts on is it too old for a 34 year old tall and curvy size 16 mum. What colour and what style of top?

Ta folks

I think the length is slimming but open to opinions (obviously) . I like the "period drama" look of it, I feel elegant in it. Tried it on only today.

Also tried on this, just below the knee length pink number and this but I looked rounder and older some how!?!

Budget is about £100 for outfit. Got knee high boot, high heels is black or brown so not really wanting to buy new foot wear.

Wrap dress is v nice - sounds like you could wear that as you're tall (would make me look like I'd been in the dressing up box as am shortarse, sigh)

controlfreakinfreaky · 01/10/2008 22:04

have a look at the dresses on hobbs website (sorry, tried to link but failed)

mabanana · 01/10/2008 22:11

Sorry, i'm sure you don't look remotely like a refugee or witch at the moment only that you might if you bought that horrible skirt

Ah ah ah! help! I need a fashion consultant! and personnel shopper. TBH I wear what is comfortable ie what I like and not a slave to fashion (as you can tell) but I think I look quite nice for a tall, curvy, "too much of a mummy tummy", fat legged, 34 year old. Too make up for it i have a nice smile!

Sorry, carries but that is vile.

Frumpy - and would not look remotely good even on a skinny tall person.

Per Una - so,so wrong. And yet it keeps going..

carries · 01/10/2008 22:26

okay, what should I wear to a semi-casual winter wedding. Got brown suede boots, or heels in black or brown, strappy silver sandals. Not really wanting to buy footwear (unless it's black knee high boots) Modest dresser, don't like showing upper arms or cleavage.

Lovely dress with a print (and a v neck) in a colour that suits you and black knee high boots or heels, and very smart coat.

controlfreakinfreaky · 01/10/2008 22:32

LOOK ON HOBBS!

overthemill · 01/10/2008 22:34

agree with mabanna, but go to a personal shopper somewhere like john lewis and see what they suggest.
you may find a whole new look and you dont have to buy

carries · 01/10/2008 22:36

Looked at hobbs. a bit too pricey! Unless I'll wear loads again and don't need to buy anything else to go with it nice though

OP posts:
controlfreakinfreaky · 01/10/2008 22:38

well you said a £100... and there are some lovely things for £99 that you could wear with your boots...

carries · 01/10/2008 22:38

Love this but too pricey and not exactly casual!

OP posts:
carries · 01/10/2008 22:39

True i did say £100 I guess i'm counting not having to buy anything else to go with what I buy.
