Oh my god they feel soooo empty, I am in my early twenties I am a single parent and they are hanging down to my knees.... .

Not quite my knees as they are so small but they are horrible...

Does anyone know of anything I could do to make them look fuller other than having a boob job or starting bf again... .

Also how long should I wait before getting measured for a new bra and can anyone recommend some lovely bras that give good shape and do not break the bank...

I am soooo upset, I went bra shopping today and tried on a million and they all looked terrible.

I got measured in M7S and they said I am a 34c or d.

I tried on bras in that size but my boobless boobs just did not full the cup and the sizes that did fit were 34b...

I could not bEAR TO BUY A BRA AS THEY ALL MADE ME LOOK BOOBLESS WHICH MAKES MY BELLY AND HIPS LOOK BIGGER...

I really need a boob job and tummy tuck.

Does anyone know a ten years younger type of programme for people in their early twenties??

I'm sorry to hear you're feeling crap. I'm also at the fitting woman for not doing her best to make you feel fabulous, that is part of her job IMO.

M&S are shit at fitting bras. I said so yesterday and it is true. They just are, they measure your ribs, round down and add 4", which is why they have tried to put you in a 34. This is not the correct way to measure.

You ARE a c or d, just not a 34 anything. From the measurrements you gave yesterday this is impossible.

If the bra where the cup fitted you was a 34b then you are probably really a 32c or a 30d. The cup is exactly the same size in all 3. Wearing a bra with a tighter band will give you a better shape. Get one with padding if you like. And some magic knickers too. A balconette bra would probably be better than a full cup bra.

There's a 10 years younger thread on here somewhere in style and beauty.

God I wish I could make you feel better, farkin M&S. Get thee to another shop

cantpickyourfamily · 02/10/2008 18:48

I only went there as the area I went shopping in today is rubbish and the only place to get measured was there...

I have not been a B cup for so many years, and I pretty sure tat when I was I was so slim it didn't matter.

The bra lady also said maybe I could try using some fillets in my bra. I said what chicken fillets no thanks...

I will def try to get measure else where, or just try a 32c or 30d. being a c or more would make me feel much better...

10 years younger girls are to be found here. I've never been on the thread, so no idea if it's any good.

DeJaVous · 02/10/2008 18:52

x what fits you is what matters, you don't need to let anyone measure you.

I just landed on your other thread by accident, I'm sorry you're having such a horrid time at the moment. I don't do hugs, but in this case I will make an exception.

(hug)

cantpickyourfamily · 02/10/2008 18:52

Thanks for the link I will have a look...

it's an x-o-rama!

It takes a while for the boobs to 'fill back up' (6-12 months) but it can happen, the fat slowly re-deposits itself. Also, mirena coil (or the pill?) makes your boobs alot fuller for lot of people, worth a try? Mine looked more 'empty' after BF but are better now than before pregnancy somehow, took a while though. My mum also said that as you get older they fill up again too.

cantpickyourfamily · 02/10/2008 20:09

lucky you jellybeans, I hope things will get better, its just that I am single and in my early twenties and feel any guy that sees me naked will run a mile.

I don't look too bad from behind, actually look quite normal, it is just all the saggyness at the frount that is a problem...

I am thinking about a boob job and tummy tuck but don't think I could stand having surgery...

Can'tpick - I bet you things will get better. I stopped after 16 months of BF and my never-exactly-massive norkage was just as you describe. I was surprised to feel so down about it as I've never been particularly concerned about my appearance. It made me really sad.

But they are back back back now - took about six months I think. Like jellybeans says, I think it took a while for the fat to return to its rightful home.

Have your periods come back? Mine didn't return until I stopped BF and I think a few cycles of hormones helped out too.

Oh and I found John Lewis much better than Marks n Sparks for bra fitting.

Please don't be sad; it's more than likely that a bit of time and a good bra fitting will make you feel so much better.

TheOldestCat · 02/10/2008 20:24

Cross-post, marmaduke! Agree re: John Lewis. So much better.

FattipuffsandThinnifers · 02/10/2008 21:07

M&S is rubbish at bra fitting. Try going to John Lewis or other dept store and getting much smaller back than you'd normally do, and a bigger cup size.

If I was you I'd try a 30C - or even D cup. As has been said lots on this thread, the smaller the back size, the better the support and the better the fit. Also, when bras are a smaller back size, the cup is actually smaller. Eg a 34C cup will actually be bigger than a 30C cup.

cantpickyourfamily · 02/10/2008 21:21

while bf I had a few very light periods. But the day after I stopped bf I had a heavier period so perhaps they will be more regular and heavier now.

I think I am just worrying as a friend or my mums has got tiny empty breast years after bf, but she is very thin so maybe it is that she just has not got any fat to put in them.

I think I heard somewhere that when you are bf you store fat in places like your hips and that you will loose this when you stop bf, has this happened to many people? If so could be a little compensation...

Hi Ladies

Just wanted to update you, I went to a department shop to get measured today and guess what, I am a 32D....

I am so happy, I found two bras that actually give me a nice shape and I feel much better now...

I cannot believe that the lady in M&S was going to let me buy a 34B bra it made me look terrible, and feel even worse...

I even bought a pair of knickers to match one of the bras which cost £10, don't think I have ever paid that much for one pair of knickers but hey I deserve a treat after how I felt yesterday...

Anyway just wanted to say thank you all for your very clever advice...

cantpickyourfamily · 03/10/2008 16:48

dejavous - I have to say that you were closer to my actual bra measurement than the M&S lady and you have never even seen me let alone measured me...

Thanks for the great tips... x x

That's fantastic news

Good underwear is a great thing!

HaventSleptForAYear · 03/10/2008 20:39

Aha! While reading the thread was going to suggest a 32C - because you sound v. similar to me and I was v. about my norkage recently.

Glad you are one better ! (32D)

I couldn't believe I was a C after buying 34B for years but I have now bought several 32Cs that fit me perfectly and it makes such a difference to how I look in clothes.

Am still bf DS2 (21mths) but don't think boobs will shrink anymore (says hopefully).

cantpickyourfamily · 05/10/2008 08:51

Haventslept - do you find that your new size feels oddly tight after wearing loose bras for so long?

I wore my new bra yesterday and felt great as it was not a Bcup... lol But it did feel really tight, but gave me a good shape so I will happily put up with it...

mrsshapelybottom · 05/10/2008 10:35

Cantpick, I think so many women are used to wearing a bra which is too big in the back for years (I wore a 36A for years and I am now wearing a 32C) that it feels odd to have a bra which hugs the body IYKWIM? It did take me a while to get used to the feeling.

Having said that, if you can't breathe you might want to try a different style or brand as they all fit slightly differenty

so glad to hear you are feeling better about your boobs
