Casual shoes that aren't trainers...

I always wear trainers because I find them soooo comfortable and I can walk/play with DS etc. in them but I think they look abit... urgh. What do you wear for casual shoes? They can't be heels because I walk DS to preschool, will be playing football in them, walking the dog etc. Thanks

trainers are ok if they are stylish ones ie NOT ones meant for actual sport

otherwise converse, ballet flats, leather boots

camper does some lovely shoes that are leather and look a bit like trainers but smarter, iykwim

clarks has some lovely flat shoes in at the moment

CountessDracula · 30/09/2008 12:30

Footprints essentially birkenstock trainers
I have had a pari of these for 3 years and they are still going strong, I walk to work in them most days adn walk dog etc. Like slippers

orangina · 30/09/2008 12:31

TDWP, I never had you down as a hush puppy girl....

orangina · 30/09/2008 12:32

What size are you LoW? Tutter is selling some brand new laceless converse on another thread...

MrsMattie · 30/09/2008 12:37

Converse, Uggs, ballet pumps, riding boots? I wear a combination of these.

castille · 30/09/2008 12:37

I second Camper, v nice but £££

And wiiide, they don't fit me

wordgirl · 30/09/2008 12:38

Skechers are as comfortable as trainers but a bit prettier.

blithedance · 01/10/2008 11:58

Thanks for starting this thread I'm looking for exactly the same.

this is what I'm currently contemplating. Cannot decide between chunky flat mary-jane or chunky flat mule.

blithedance · 01/10/2008 12:03

no, this link oops

brimfull · 01/10/2008 12:04

CD they may be comfy but they are ugly

blithedance · 01/10/2008 12:16

Yes that's the essential problem. I don't want anything that laces up though, either looks too trainer-like or reminiscent of what my mother wears (ecco/padders).

But would they still be ugly worn with a long pair of jeans so only just showing?

brimfull · 01/10/2008 12:19

blundstones would last yrs and v comfy
they do sell them here

blithedance · 01/10/2008 12:23

those are fab!

Really looking for shoes rather than boots, have plenty of boots but feel my feet need letting out occasionally!

LaTrucha · 01/10/2008 13:40

I thikn Clarks 'Air' somethingy range are very comfy and IMO have nicer things than those here (sorry). They're still deeply practical shoes though, and therefore I have to imagine myself as a whole other person before I put mine on.
