when was the last time there was a moisturiser thread? my face is seriously in need of nourishment

did use liz earle although ran out few weeks ago and not yet replaced. now using the "award winning" rubbish cream from Aldi but need to up the ante

the new range form superdrug is supposed to be good,its called good skin i think, but the cream a want is always out of stock when i go in.

it's the smell of some of them I can't stand, anything that smells synthetic is out in my book.

at "upping the ante" from Aldi to Superdrug.

I went from Liz Earle to Aldi a few months back, got acne, went back to Liz Earle. Can't really afford the Liz Earle, but the alternative seems to be scrofulous horror, so have bitten bullet and given up eating lunch for a few weeks...

i bought some of the aldi dya cream after all the hype, but dont think alot to it.
i use decleor hydra floral for my very dry skin, and it is brilliant, but i ma down to my last half a pot.
i have some of the new elemis day cream and will try that next.i dont like the smell of liz earle stuff.

I am mostly using Philosophy's Hope in a Jar (can also get in a bottle if prefer lotion to a cream). Pretty expensive in the UK though but lasts a while and the best I've found for my skin. Much cheaper on ebay than in department stores.

Clinique's moisturiser is OK but I don't think that fab.

Have just ordered a new tube of Dr Hauschka rose day cream - it's the best !

I found Liz Early moisturiser too claggy, although I love the hot cloth wash. I've been using the infamous Waitrose Bum Butter at night and have only occasionally needed a proper daytime moisturiser since I started using it. I think I may have to start again soon as it's very drying for my skin when it's windy. Someone recently recommended Akamuti and I'm considering trying one of their creams, has anyone tried them?

ATM if I need a day moisturiser I've been either using Aveeno Positively Smooth (so-so) or Dr Hauschka Rose Cream (very heavy and greasy).

i dont like philiosphy or dr hauschka, both gave me spots. i have a massive bottle of the purity cleanser and cant use it!

makes me realise what a moisturiser junkie I am! have tried most of these. was thinking of giving decleor another go and agree that Dr Hauschka rose day cream is good although its benefits seemed to wear off on me after a while. Isn't there supposed to be a Neals Yard equivalent that's good?

any votes for anything from Lancome? (although smell puts me off)

i have a lancome one, but it wasnt outstanding, i dont even know the name of it, its been that long since i used it.

both me and my mum swear by decleor, qvc is usually the best place ot get it from.

How have you not hear about Waitrose Baby Bottom Butter? It was the first clear indication that MN had an "effect", like the Delia effect or the Nigella effect. Someone posted that she had been using it on her face with fab results and within a week Waitroses everywhere were sold out. Mumsnetters were posting tubs to each other and the factory had to increase production. There were even articles in newspapers IIRC.

It really suits me, I have very dry, sensitive skin, but others have said it gives them spots. I only use a very tiny amount, although I'm a bit more generous around the eyes. I use it on my neck and decolletage too.

Estee Lauder Hydracomplete is great if you need a bit of extra moisture - makes your face feels soft and moisturised but not at all greasy - and her night time serum is just fab for boosting yiur skin through the night.

and skin nanny from lush-its bit heavy but sooooo good.

i have found it does say what time they open next to the store details.

Skin nanny very greasy, and paradise regained too light and stripping as far as the new Lush moistursers go. Love Skins Shangrila though, but a little much in the summer for me. Had some Dear John from Benefit, face went bright red. Fancy the Dr. Hauschka though. Have no Waitrose.

interesting re: estee lauder, I always think of them as for old ladies but a) their tinted moisturiser is very good and b) I am no spring chicken
