I bought some from a shop called Bella Donna in Berlin which is online and a fair bit cheaper than the UK price, but that was back when the Euro was much weaker so the savings may be negligible now.

Is this the product you were thinking of? I've never tried it, I didn't get on too well with Dr Hauschka stuff, although I still use the Rose Cream occasionally and Neem Oil in my hair.

oooh thanks bran...thats the one
not so different in price in berlin but looks like an amazing shop !
what did you find was wrong with hauschka.
i have used it for years but am feeling like recently it stopped working so well
can you recommend any other brands ? i have tried weleda but don't find them rich enough for me (i may just be using the wrong ones !)
i love the smell of rose

thanks

It was just too heavy for me even though I have very dry skin, plus my skin is quite sensitive and although it wasn't actually reacting to the DrH it was more sensitive to other things when I was using it.

Now I use Liz Earle hot cloth wash followed by Waitrose Baby Bottom Butter (quite generously around the eyes and sparingly elsewhere) at night. In the daytime I either use Sunsense facial sunblock (which is slightly tinted) or Nars Skin Brightening Serum but I don't really need a moisturiser unless the weather is very dry and windy (pre Liz Earle/baby bum butter I used to need quite heavy moisturiser to stop my skin from just cracking/flaking off). If I do need extra moisturising I either use a little DrH Rose Cream (rarely) or Aveeno face cream. I really feel that my skin is quite robust these days and I really notice the difference if I get lazy and stop using Liz Earle wash for a few days.

thanks bran..haven't looked at liz earle.

I found Liz Earle sensitive moisturiser very heavy and only used about a quarter of a pot, but everything else in her range is terrific IMO.

mamazee · 21/09/2008 22:50

is it quite expensive ?

I don't think so, not if you're used to buying DrH. This is the Hot Cloth Cleanser, I find that the 200ml pump lasts me about 3 months. If you have muslins left over from when your dc were small then just cut them into quarters and you don't need to buy any more. The Skin Repair Dry Skin cream is the one that I didn't particularly like, it just never seemed to sink in properly so it looked and felt a bit shiney all the time.

QVC also sell Liz Earle slightly cheaper than the website (but the website sends out trial sized freebies). If you decide to try it it's worth watching QVC as it's a useful demonstration of how to use all her stuff.

tesco does one very similar to the liz earle one, their bnatural range i think. nearly the same ingredients, not as herby smelling, think its £3.80. have used both, not much difference just price.

mamazee · 21/09/2008 23:34

wow that is a super bargain..tescos here i come

Ooh, now I'm in a quandry. Should I try the Tesco's one? A few months ago I tried Lush's Ultrabland because several Mnetters used it and said it was the same as Liz Earle/Eve Lom, but I hated it and didn't think it was any like as good.

singingtree · 22/09/2008 07:55

I didn't like ultrabland either, too sticky, but I love this www.akamuti.co.uk/products/new/sweet-orange-cleansing-cream-60ml - nicer than Liz Earle too imo. Was recommended by another mumsnetter, can't remember who but it is lovely

Dr Hauska is much cheaper in Germany. I bought Rose day cream for 19 euros in Baden Baden (not the cheapest place in Germany!)
