Ummm - monsoon

Lots of other lovely stuff as well as the sparkly. Could you reach a compromise perhaps wear dress over trousers - especially if she's tall.

JackieNo · 18/09/2008 12:06

Maybe Velvet trousers, I'm guessing that this would be too ruffley?

nailpolish · 18/09/2008 12:07

i have a cousin who is 11 and recently refused to wear a dress or pink sparkles etc

she wore a suit and tie! she looked fab actually

JackieNo · 18/09/2008 12:08

I've been looking for a trouser suit, but couldn't find one - did she have to get a boy's one, NP?

nailpolish · 18/09/2008 12:12

i dont know im afraid

does she like peaches geldof? r is she too young to notice

peaches wears blazers all the time and looks cool

try to not think of traditional wedding attire

nailpolish · 18/09/2008 12:16

peaches

or what about a waistcoat and trousers?

slug · 18/09/2008 12:16

Would she wear something like this? My blond, blue eyed DD looks stunning in the one her BF gave her.

snorkle · 18/09/2008 12:31

Agree slug, I wqas wondering about a salwar suit

DisasterAreaIsOffToCostaRica · 18/09/2008 17:36

srry. little ratbag has vetoed all of those.
still stuck.

So what sort of things does she normally wear?

DisasterAreaIsOffToCostaRica · 18/09/2008 17:39

jeans. tshirts. rugby shirt. shorts.
has about 3 outfits will always wear and nothing else.

Would she wear city shorts, with a shirt, maybe? It would mean tights though .

JackieNo · 18/09/2008 17:45

shorts?

charmander · 18/09/2008 17:48

what does she think she should wear?

MamaG · 18/09/2008 17:50

these sort of trousers in navy or cream

a white T shirt or shirt

plainish cardigan similar to this

Not exactly dressy but they are smart and its a compromise of sorts?

Prob won't help, but I have to confess if my 9 year old DD was being fussy after I'd suggested loads of outfits, I'd just insist she wore something of my choosing (without putting her in a frilly monstrosity of course!)

DisasterAreaIsOffToCostaRica · 18/09/2008 17:52

oh my god.
we have lift off.
she thinks she might like those shorts.
also have joules in town so can pop in and try on.
you are a bleeeding genius

JackieNo · 18/09/2008 17:53

. Wow. Result.

JackieNo · 18/09/2008 18:01

Boden had an outfit idea with shorts, and some rather funky silver converse-alikes, no doubt sold out, but might work? As long as they're in a sufficiently festive fabric/material.

DisasterAreaIsOffToCostaRica · 18/09/2008 18:08

Rihght - there was me thinking DD1 would be easy. time to dress her.
is 12. doesn't want to look too 'little girly' but does hanker after sparkly fairy type frocks. not mad keen on anything monsoon or next.

OP posts:
JackieNo · 18/09/2008 18:57

Hmm - Prom type dress? with a cardi?
This is pretty
A bit glittery?

DisasterAreaIsOffToCostaRica · 18/09/2008 19:15

she likes the orange.
thanks
