Still, if you must live in a 17th century cow shed what do you expect?

I'm cold. I need more layers. Will cashmere help? Can I justif a Brora grab and run raid? I've never had cashmere. Help me get it....

i got two 100%cashmere cardis and a few socks that wear around home, socks gets hole easily so buys every so often. cant live without them in the uk. buy real cashmere and then you will know the difference. they light as feather, soft like silk.

Can recommend pure . More expensive than Uniqlo, M&S et al, but much better quality. And a lot cheaper than Brora.

They often have discounts (think there was 25% off in Sunday Times this week) and good sales.

So snuggly and warm, but light and not itchy like some wools.

I love cashmere, picked up a fab black V neck in my fave thrift shop today for £8 and a jumper for a tenner the other day.

Agree about fleece but layered cashmere is better. Get sheepskin boots for home and a pash round your shoulders - you can get the real thing on ebay for just a few pounds if you order from overseas.

Oh loads of brilliant ideas! Thank you.

But cashmere in the TUMBLE DRYER? Really? That makes me afraid but if you say so, 5 mins on a timer....

Thanks for the Pure link, CoffeCrazedMama, I was just about to order from Brora! the styles are very similar indeed, wonder if they're related?

Does anyone have a code for Pure? I don't get the Sunday papers usually!

Merino wool base layers from brands like Icebreaker, Odlo or Aclima can be chucked in the washing machine and tumble dried with your normal wash, sooo comfortable, lightweight and won't itch. More practical = less precious than cashmere....
