Work trousers: nicer than Next but not as expensive as Boden?

Can't believe I am posting on Style and Beauty...go easy on me girls...

I work 3 days and basically wear the same trousers every day with different tops. I need a new pair and would like smartish, wide leg, preferably lined, sort of woolly or textured looking rather than shiny/power-dressed type. Could spend up to 50 quid.

Any ideas?

Principles and Gap both do decent quality work trousers. Also M&S Ltd Collection.

JackieNo · 14/09/2008 21:10

Principles stuff is looking good atm.

Habbibu · 14/09/2008 21:10

fishie · 14/09/2008 21:11

Mimsy2000 · 14/09/2008 21:14

haven't been there in a while becuase hugely pregnant but zara always has lovely work clothes.

FrayedKnot · 14/09/2008 21:17

I recently got some from Monsoon

They have a kind of textured look

Hang on

Heated · 14/09/2008 21:18

Zara & Principles usually sorts me out.

foxinsocks · 14/09/2008 21:19

M&S have some good suit/work trousers. You need to look through a whole load before you find the nice ones. But def worth it and good price/wash well etc.

FrayedKnot · 14/09/2008 21:20

these

mrsbabookaloo · 14/09/2008 21:23

You guys are fast!

M&S: had a look and saw some seriously frumpy ones...i bet you are right and I need to look harder.

Had a look in White Stuff..didn't see anything.

Gap...hmm, was afraid that they might be cut very low/tight/too trendy for me.

Just realised I said that M&S is too frumpy and Gap too trendy. Not fussy, or anything. am I?

Zara...what is it about Zara? I just go in there and feel confused and walk out. Is it the layout?

FrayedKnot: love those Monsoon ones! Would never have thought to look in there for work clothes.

Also principles looks good.

Thanks all.

I bought a couple of pairs at Debenhams last week - John Rocha. Really nice feeling fabric. Now to find a job....

girlsnextdoor · 15/09/2008 08:25

Esprit- if you have one near or online, though the web pics aren't that clear.

Great Plains had loads - bigger John Lewis stores.

mrsbabookaloo · 15/09/2008 11:19

Ooh, thanks, those are both good ideas...now I just need time to go shopping...
