They are expensive but the last time I spent that sort of money on boots (Russell and Bromley) they lasted me three years. I had some Rocket Dog boots last year which are similar - they look really tatty and scuffed after only one winter's wear.

I bought them and sent them back. I wouldn't normally spend that much on boots so am waiting for the sale!

They are beautifully made and very solid, but rather wellie ish on me as i have thin calves.

They come up quite high as well, so right to the back of your knee iyswim/

Also no zip, which adds to the wellie feeling.

v nice though

Sherbert37 · 12/09/2008 10:10

John Lewis have a wonderful selection this year.

foothesnoo · 12/09/2008 10:38

Interesting flllight.

I quite like the no-zip thing as zips always seem to wreck my tights! I have thin calves though.

Aren't biker-type boots supposed to be a bit wellyish anyway?

Am off to struggle through the clarks website.

I've got them.

I love them, they look nice with a knee length skirt.

And when my diet starts working, they may well look nice with some skinny jeans tucked in.

V comfy, which is unusual for Boden, and they don't go all watermarked in the wet, so they are practical.

MaggieW · 12/09/2008 18:53

I've just received them in green, but have sent them back. They are lovely but looked a bit wellyish - I didn't think they had enough detail on them and the top detail was hidden under skirts. Also not quite the right green to go with what I already have in my wardrobe. They were comfortable and solid but I also didn't like the fact they were pull ons. The search goes on...

mabanana · 12/09/2008 18:59

They do look a bit like wellies, don't they?

I'm thinking of these: www.duoboots.com/products/boots/detail/calf_fitted_boots_boutique/macerata/24/colour/1/ or these
