Bear in mind I am recovering from a broken foot and my Crocs are so comfortable, would it be totally WRONG to wear these to work?

how unacceptable on a scale of 1 to 10 - 1 = laughably horrific, 10 = a neat and stylish way to accommodate permanently aching foot?

I wear Rocket Dog

Blu · 09/09/2008 11:31

Poor you.

Pesonally, I think 'real' Crocs look better than Crocs-pretending-to-be-ballet-flats, and you could wear them wih trousers.

Kickers are often found to be helpful fo children with orthopaedic issues, and DP wears Birkenstocks to support his arches, and puts Birkenstock insoles in other shoes.

Can you ask your consultant to refer you to orthotics, who can make a proper custom-made insole to put in regular shoes?

MrsJohnCusack · 09/09/2008 11:31

oh dear you poor thing, lots of sympathy

but I do think the surgical grey ballet pumps are fairly minging (a 2 on your scale). other colours might possilby be better?

if it's the only thing that you can wear though, that's the most important thing.

I actually think the ones in the link are nicer than proper uggs. And reasonable price too. Not sure about the crocs with tights. Could you go tightless or wear trousers? I am still tightless ATM.

YeahBut · 09/09/2008 11:53

What about some Doc Martens? Would they give you enough support whilst offering decent street cred?

here
more

PoorOldEnid · 09/09/2008 12:05

the thing about crocs is that they have a moulded insole - eg it is shaped, like a birkenstock, with a metatarsal support. this makes them really comfy to wear as they support underneath the main break. AFAIK rocket dogs, uggs or doc martens dont have this, even though they LOOK comfortable!

I think blus suggestion of proper orthotics is an excellent one
