A question to any hairdressers?

How do you use L'Oreal Efassor?
I bought a sachet (28g) but there are no instructions in English on it.
I need to strip the old layers of permanent colour out but am a bit wary.
I cannot afford to have it professionally done but will my hair fall out in lumps if I do it myself?
Help!!!

Found this....

CLEANSING: remove an incompatible tone :1 sachet of Effasor +60ml of very hot water. Apply quickly to lengths and ends. Massage until tone is removed for between 5 to 20 mins

Please don't use it.

I had a disaster self dying my hair a couple of months ago. I was trying to dye it dark brown and it went black at the front and down the sides. Despite loads of washing it wouldn't shift.

I started a thread on here about it and nearly everyone said not to used a hair stripper.

I know when your hair is a mess you just want it fixed. Could you try the local college and see if they need models?

Do NOT use any colour stripper!! it's just peroxide and your hair will go orange. I speak from experience.

NappiesGalore · 09/09/2008 13:08

oh dear
ive had many a colour mishap
almost melted my hair off trying to go back to blonde from black... went vivid bright orange.

i looked at yr profile GO to see if i could come round and see what i could do... but you are in highlands of scotland and i am on s coast of england... so not so convenient huh.

hope you get it sorted

cocolepew · 09/09/2008 13:10

Your hair does go various shades of orange but you are meant to then dye over it.

Thank you all for answering.

Only, I big fat went and did it this morning but used Goldwell instead of the Efassor and yes I'm sporting a grey, ginger and black barnet. Plus a hat and dark glasses.
I look like a bloody ferret.

Thanks, NappiesGalore for offering to come round. I am sure you can see the glow of orange from the South Coast....

get some medium brown and dye over it... worth a try, no?
(im sure you look perfectly wonderful...very...um... individual and eccentric!)

i did actually quite like my orange thing... once i got over the shock that is...

GentleOtter · 09/09/2008 14:27

Oh the shame!
We are miles from any shops that sell hairdye and the colour I had in mind was a nice golden brown as the picture on the front sold it to me.

If only the bottom bit would be the same as the top bit (it is waist length) then it might dye sort of uniformly.

The nearest place with chemists and things is Crieff and Orlando Bloom has been kicking about there recently . Oh, it would be my luck to see him when looking like a mad old woman with cats.

you may have to chop it all off and start again. go for a cropped do - v liberating!

GentleOtter · 09/09/2008 14:40

I had a foot lopped off and am still in shock. It gets put up in a bun each day when I'm working and I quite like the weight.
My face is too plump for a crop methinks but I'm going to faff around with the colour later on tonight -all daringly!

At least it is super shiny now!
