Help a haggard bride - urgent appeal

Right. I'm getting married in 6 weeks. I have bought some nice new makeup. My question is, do I use loose powder to 'set' my foundation? I am worried it will be really drying and therefore (gasp) aging. On the other hand, if I don't use it will my makeup wear off leaving me (horrors) BARE-FACED?

Use a huge piece of cotton wool to put it on with, powder everywhere but worth it. The get a big brush and sweep off the excess.
Worked for me.

so I should use it? Will it make me look old(er)?

Why don't you have a girlie night in with some friends and test it? Keep away from the fake tan with alcohol though.

Can you get a professional in? I've been quoted £40 for bride for hair and make up?

Yes deffo.

My makeup lady said that for wedding you should go v.v.v.matte because anything else looks shiny and greasy not dewy and youthful.

I would use a brush, and practice

You are getting married a week before me

Mac does this make up fix stuff which is excellent. It really does seem to help it stay on and it's worth buying. Ditto, if you feel your loose powder is too loose, you can get powders from places like Mac and Benefit (and probably bobbi brown) that are less powdery. But have you done all the shopping etc already ?

smashbox photo finish is a great primer that makes you look matte and poreless.
