my sis is quite stylish but unique and she wears them all the time. the wider ones are in fashion atm afaik.

I prefer the wider floppy bandana-ish ones.
I quite like the big hair bobble ones.
The stiff ones, especially wide ones, give me a tension headache (physically on me and when I see them )

My mother wears them. Hence if I wore them I would look like my mother. So I don't .

I wear an Alice Band sometimes. It is silver from Miu Miu and it looks good in my long brown hair...and matches my silver ballet pumps (and my Birkenstocks )!!

I generally don't give a t*ss what people think about me or what I wear though, so that might be why I feel like I can get away with it.

Ah well, I shall go and buy some more, and probably some more CROCS as well. I am old enough now to put comfort and practicality first (am growing my hair from v short and it is at the maddening stage where only a headband seems to work).

I wear only when running . usually my daughter's and I do look silly

I sometimes wear the ones with lots of big teeth in.
My dd 3 has loads of the alice bands and i wouldn't personally wear them.
Have seen lot's of teenagers in the big hair bobble ones and they look quite nice!
The big wide elastic ones are good for when you in a rush and haven't washed your hair though!

I like the wide bandanna-y ones, too. No strong opinions on the rest, except that padded black velvet ones that make you look like an illustration from the Sloane Ranger Handbook should be avoided.

even as a child they wre bloody painful to wear! the teeth used to dig in and the edges would press into the bit behind my ear! ouch

I wear one at the moment, to keep my hair out of the way (it's not long enough to tie back). I don't think it looks too bad, it's just plain black, has no 'teeth' and is v comfy.

I love them on little girls. I was at uni with a mature student (in her 40s?) who wore one all the time. She looked like an idiot. Sorry.

Sorry but only the very thin metal ones, the wide bandana or the black ones like an elastic band. Wide plastic just for kids.
