DS2 (8) loves shopping.

I tried on some sale sandals today, fuschia peep-toe wedges.

I hate my feet and have a really ugly right toenail.

I was telling him that I wouldn't be able to wear them and he said ..." You can buy some false toenails, mummy - and paint them the same colour as the sandals."

He sounds lovely

My ds of 5 is fantastic shop-buddy and the other day chose me some lovely sunglasses. I DON'T think it means he's at all effeminate tho. He's just cool

My son is three and he tells me if he likes something I am wearing or intending to buy or not

My DS2 is far more a girl than I could ever have wished for.

I think boys are more adoring of their mothers than girls tbh.

I have a DS2 (10) who I reckon will be the next Gok Wan - he has a great eye for good clothes. If he doesn't like something, I usually don't buy it

Girls have an eye on what you're wearing with a view to stealing borrowing it. Boys are less likely to do this, but if your ds picks out anything piratey or soldiery you should make sure you can return the goods for a full refund.

My DS2 is like my little personal shoppper. He loves helping me to choose things. And always compliments me on what I am wearing and tells me I look nice.

DS1 and DS3 are united in their hatred of shops, however.

They are all going to grow up to be men like my DH who loves shopping, then you will have very grateful DILs.

A friend's dh loves shopping too, he buys all the dc's clothes and some bits for his dw too.

He is very stylish.

Ahh bubble my ds3 would get on well with him. He always talks about wanting to be a clothes designer and he tells me what I should be wearing. He once looked at my legs and gasped, 'Mummy! Ladies don't have hair on their legs'.

He said last week, 'Marilyn Monroe is the second most beautiful woman in the world'.

He's 6 Mercy and life can be complicated for him.

Middle DS is my own personal Gok Wan.

(DS1 and DS3 are almost, but not quite, as hopeless as their father in the fashion stakes.)

My camp ds is the middle one too. He has his own sewing machine. He went to school in a gold lycra all in one with black pants on top and bangles with a red wig when they had to be superheros. Teachers loved it but he got stick, as he knew he would, from male classmates.

Spidermama - your boy's Marilyn Monroe comment reminds me of when DD1 was 5yrs and highlights the difference between girls and boys - she was cuddling on my lap, looked into my eyes and said

Ds9 loves Gok, wants to be a make-up artist, and was in River Island today with me discussing which shoes go with a certain dress- and ooohing excitedly over a purple clutch PMSL

I have long thought there's a huigh chance he's gay (not related to shopping obv, just instinct) and he can be effeminate certainly; hre is also stylish in that annoying way of throwing tings on and looking good- whereas I look like the bag lady in the corner and DH- let's not go there!

Simultaneously though he has AS which is called 'extreme maleness' by some and is in constant trouble for fighting; he's a very bizarre mix indeed

DS2 isn't camp surprisingly enough, he's typically boyish in most respects.

He does however have the knack of "assisting" when I'm getting ready, although isn't overly bothered about his own clothing.

I have a 7 yr old step-brother who is also very effeminate, however, looking at his 25-ish yr old big brother who is also very in touch with his feminine side and just uses it to shag loads of women maybe it's a sign of things to come!
